I am writing you today to tell you about the environment as it is today and to ask you to help me.

There have been so many things done in the name of progress that really have hurt the environment. Like:
clear cutting forests-there's no place for my friends to live and erosion of the land is very prevalent,
dumping your chemicals into the rivers-there's no place we can drink safely, the water that once was so pure and clean is now sullied beyond repair,
The practice of killing animals just to kill animals-that upsets the natural order of things, also it kills some of my brothers and sisters needlessly.

To sum this all up, with your help we can make some of these bad environmental challenges positive again.

Dear People,
This is the first letter you will receive from the beings of the forest. We've reached our limit and now we have resorted to a formal, not violent action..
Please realize you are not the ones that own our world, nor are you the chosen masters of it. Your opposable thumb gives you advantages and maybe your 'large' brain allows you to ponder abstractly but you aren't thinking of the rest of us.
Maybe the rest of us didn't 'evolve' as rapidly as you humans because we know a good thing and we left it alone. We are happy with our families in our trees, burrows, caves, and other places we call home.
Your actions and behaviour since you've walked upright have become very selfish and self-centred.
We're dying out here from your pollution, your machines, your desire for our flesh, skin and other body parts and your bullying your way into our neighbourhoods.

As the representative of the forest, I implore you to change your ways. Please clean up your act, it's affecting your species too... but you are too proud to admit it whole-heartedly.
Since you have evolved into a position of power it is up to you and you alone to reverse the damage you have done.

Please replant the forests you've chopped down or started on fire. Please pick up the mess you made of garbage on the land and stop using fresh drinking water as a toilet. Please allow us all to have fresh air to breathe by ceasing the use of smoke stacks.

You forget we are all earthlings and it's all our planet.

Think carefully with your 'big' brains... the mess in the world is your fault and you have to clean it up... you owe us that much.
We've been quiet, patient and polite this long... don't wait much longer or you'll be sorry. A threat? Yes it is but not from us.

Take action for all our sakes.
