Afghanistan again is growing poppy plantations to produce heroin so it can be sold on the European market .Why can't the afghani's grow hemp and flood the market with hemp fibre for clothing and push the price of cotton and synthetic materials down .The amount of money it takes to defend a country should be used to start industry and create employment and to help stop the roomers of foreign Intel agencies dealing afghi heroin to other country's .

As predicted, the situation is rapidly deteriorating and the NATO allies are reluctand to participate any longer. The country depends on the poppy crop for its existence. Had we (USA) concentrated our time and our resources and our efforts exclusively there instead of embarking on another invasion in Iraq, perhaps Afghanistan would be in a more stable condition today.

Are you asking this to find out what America and the World leaders are trying for Afghanistan? As I have read ni the newspaper this morning, Ms. Condoleeza Rice is trying to ask NATO to help in sustaining peace in the country.

Its being neglected by the US Army. They are focusing all their force on OIF (Operation Iraqi Freedom) and they are loosing interest in Afghanistan.
