I'm a 14 year old boy, and I am having trouble eathing healthily. At my physical in October, I was 105 pounds, and 5'2 and a half. Now, I am 5'4, and probably around the same weight, maybe 3-5 pounds more. I do not eat healthily at all, and don't exercise, but I don't gain any weight. I am very skinny everywhere on my body, except my stomach. How can I lose this weight? I've tried to go on diets, but I can never stick to them. I used to be overweight, and could easily stick to my diet. What foods should I get? How can I strengthen my will power? My parents don't want to spend a whole lot of money on healthy foods, so what fairly cheap foods can I get? I don't want to starve myself.

Eating well is only part of it. You must exercise too. Stomach flab is from lack of use. Crunches, or sit ups, or chin ups, or swimming, or running, would eliminate the flab. Eating right is about the 5-food groups- limiting fatty foods, sodas, candy and junk will be enough. Fruits, veges, and low fat proteins will give you all you need. Bruce Lee's diaries about diet and exercise are very instructive, if you want to follow his regime. At his heaviest he weighed 130 pounds, and his waist was 28 inches. He was 5 foot 7 inches tall and had almost no body fat and in my opinion is the most fit human I've ever seen. He came up with the first power drinks and invented weight machines, and is the pioneer for the motto: being fit! check it out.

First forget the concept of a diet. Diet means the food you eat every day, you don't go on one, you just have one. Also forget will power, it's not necessary to eat in a healthy way. It's your habits you need to change. Make sure you eat at least half a kilo of fruit or vegetables every day, it's easier than you might imagine, there's plenty of fruit and veg out there and millions of inventive ways to get it into your diet. Luckily it's also fairly cheap.

Second make sure you drink at least 1.5 litres of water every day. You should never get to the stage of feeling thirsty, just get in the habit of drinking, take water with you every where you go and take a sip every time you think of it.

Third exercise, this doesn't have to be joining a gym or jogging. Actually I would recommend dance classes, something like salsa, ceroc or modern jive and I'll tell you why. Most boys flatly refuse to dance, they think it's sissy and they feel self concious, but that's silly because lots and lots of girls absolutely love to dance. So even if a boy isn't so attractive and isn't particularly brilliant on the dance floor there's a girl out there who will dance with you because there's never enough boys to go around. If you start now, in 10 years time you'll be a truely superb dancer, and dancers always look good, and you will have your pick of girls. And all those lads who were too self concious at 14 to do dance classes will be hanging around the dance floor feeling even more self concious but really really wishing they could do it. Trust me on this, I see it alot.

good luck

eat as much fruit and vegetable as you can. eat a small amount of nuts. you are at such an age that you can not follow a very strict diet. to lose weight you must exercise. if you go on a strict diet, your body will lose many nutritions and vitamins. and this will cause you many physical problems the effects of some which you may face in your adulthood. go on a diet which makes you enjoy your life.
