Can "Reglan" really be a safe drug for your stomach?

I took it 3 times already and I got a burning in my stomach, just wondering?

Reglan (metoclopramide) is a safe drug, however it has a few contraindications and possible side effects. Look at http://www.drugs.com/reglan.html.
There are better drugs for heartburn, e.g. Prilosec.
