If you really get in trouble, you don't have anything to fear from American soldiers. They will not kill you unless you are trying to kill them. You should maybe think why there are so many Muslims killing each other and them. And anti-muslim is such a strong word. Last time I saw, George Bush was holding hands with the Saudi King, how more friendly could that be?
It is good that you are learning English, soon we will understand each other, keep learning.

I believe the media is abusing Islam & its followers. Not all Islamists are Fundamentalists; and, many want Peace.
But, does Islam allow Peace w/out Jihad if they feel the Jihad is Valid ??? Not even the Immans have all agreed on this; and, those that say "yes," are frowned upon from what I can gather. Here in America we don't get the WHOLE picture.
But, Jihad is not the way to win converts. Even the Crusades led Christians into an era (that hasn't ended) believing War can resolve anything.
Sometimes there IS no alternative: WW II. But, could it have been averted???
I have had Muslim friends. I know of Jewish Peace Groups in The Holy Land; they aren't publicised & when covered by news like CNN--disappear quickly.
A lot lies w/the policy & the manipulation of . . . to what we are "supposed to think." If stereotyping was a policy, then, 9-11 would NOT have happened !! Now all that is done is stereotyping.
Unfortunately most don't have the time, or won't take the time to study & read up on Islam, or the Moderates.
I know of a couple who after 9-11 (and yes they lost someone) who went to Afghanistan and helped a family who had lost someone. I do not know them personally; but, they are Christian, and I think it was very courageous of them.
I wish Muslims weren't hated; but, we are fighting terrorists; people here forget White Supremists or Anti-Government Terrorists, Oklahoma City.
No stereotyping there.
But, some things are inevitable due to group fear & ignorance: Japenese Internment Camps during WW II; German Camps too.
Etc Etc Etc
I can only pray that we can start to trust each other & try to reach out to each other for those of us who want True Peace.
I also pray that All Fundamentalists get their act together & realize that often all they breed is hatred.
Education is Key also.
If you are in the Military, why are you asking this question ??
Why, no offense, is your spelling bad ?? Truly, no offense. Just wondering about who asked a question that DOES NEED DISCUSSION & w/out inflammatory hatred that appeared on the Discussion Option on NewsLinks to the point Yahoo had to take that option away !!!

I'd like to first apologize for the other answers posted so far. Apparently there are enough bigots online that they're pretty easy to find.
Secondly I think it's a valid question, why does American International Policy seem to be anti-muslim? I'm not a muslim but I am an American and there's a lot to this issue. I unfortunately do not have the answer for you except to say that the more recent conflicts American has been involved in have been with Muslim majority states. I think that's due more to where these states are and the great number of them.
This isn't much of an answer, and I'm not going for best answer or anything, I just wanted to be one voice that understands your concern and shares it with you. Such hate between any people causes only pain for both.

Since when is American policy hating Muslims ??
America is the largest aid donor to:
Lebanon - 770 million dollars
Egypt - 3 billion dollars
Jordan - 500 million
Ethiopia - 160 million
Sudan - 140 million
Indonesia - 130 million
Palestine - 1.5 billion over the last 10 years
Islam is considered the fastest growing religion in America, with 10 million muslims now in America.

American policy isn't about hating muslims. Its about protecting the innocent from the fundamentalists that exploit their religion for their own ends. We don't hate muslims. Our enemies just happen to be muslims. If Buddhist fundamentalists had flown planes into the world trade center, we'd be after the Buddhists. So, its not about being Muslim. Being a muslim will arouse some suspicion since the terrorists are muslims and look like everybody else. With no way to tell them apart from regular people, everybody who fits the description becomes suspect. Its not hate, its just self-preservation. It sucks, I know. But I don't know of any way to correct the problem.

Not all Americans hate Muslims, you cant discriminate a whole group of people because of a few bad apples. The people who discriminate are the ones who are ignorant and close minded. I personally have no problem Muslims, my problem is with the ones
( thats ANY ONE regardless of religion ) who kill in the name of god. Most Muslims believe the same basic principals as any Christian, be honest, don't steal, love your family and neighbors and so on. We all bleed the same color all of our feelings can be hurt and we all come in to this earth the same way. When people can start seeing past the religion, color, ethnicity, and background of other people, then and only then will peace be accomplished .

Well, some people in the US can be Islamophobic. If any Muslim is threatened or being hurt, law enforcement will do everything they can to protect the victim.
Not all Muslims hate Americans and not all Americans hate Muslims.
But I do agree that certain laws were misused in post 9/11 that heavily prejudiced Muslims.

Don't generalize! American policies and even other countries policies and laws are against the people (terrorist as they are called) who are trying to create chaos and destruction. All these policies are made to protect the the interest and development of each countries.
As you can see America is also trying to stop North Korea from further developing their nuclear arsenal, this shows that they are not just against muslims...

What specific American policy are you referring to?
Not all Americans hate muslims just as not all muslims hate Americans. Generalities like this are never a good place to start a discussion.

There's no such policy. It's just that the current enemies, who seem to hate us because we are Americans, happen to be Muslim. We also have Muslim friends. Your position is one the psychologists call "projection." A little soul-searching, or perhaps some professional help, could do you some good.

Strap on a backpack and walk into a huge crowd and see the reaction you are going to get... nobody wants to be near you right ???
We are a reactionary society... we simply don't understand the Muslim way of life, therefore we fear it... Misunderstanding almost always breeds fear... therefore you should educate the world about your religion instead of keeping it's traditions quiet... I don't hate Muslims, so don't assume it's an "AMERICAN" policy of hatred, just the ones who misunderstand... same as with the Muslim world hating Americans... I know they all don't hate us !
