" if i was matt i would go out with a girl like you"

said my crush to me.

me , matt and my crush were at town together. we all work together. im 18 and it was my first time out at night clubs.

so anyway what does that sentence mean? nothing at all? or my crush likes me secretly? or that he actually thinks matt should go for a girl like me?

Maybe your crush is trying to get you & Matt together... nah. It means: your crush would go out with you it wasn't complicated by something that is preventing him from being that close to you, but Matt is free from that complication.
Possible complications:
1. Your crush is gay.
2. Your crush likes somebodyelse.
3. Your crush knows your family/friends and it would be too weird.
4. Your crush is seeing somebody already and nobody knows about it.
5. Your crush feels like you and him are in different leagues, but Matt is on your level... that's kind of a sad one.
6. You told your crush that you like Matt, and THAT's the complication (in his mind, you like somebody other than your crush)
7. Matt is a screw-up, and he needs a mature down to earth girl to save him from himself.
8. Matt dates skanky women who screw him over, and your crush feels like you wouldn't do that to Matt.

It's definately one of these. I'm thinkin' it's #8.
I know these things, I'm a guy. It's how we talk.

Sweetie. ASK HIM. Send your crush and email and ask him what he meant. Remember, men are NOT clear cut creatures. They also aren't emotional. Likely, he likes you and said that because he assumed that Matt is the one you are eye-ing....

Just make it all light hearted. Email him and say "Hey, remember what ya said the other day how if you were Matt you'd ask me out?" So, who do you think I should ask out? If he responds with interest then there is your answer. If he emails you with a long explicit answer about why you and Matt would be good together, then he likely is not interested.

No worries though sweetie.
You are young and that "crush" ain't Nothin' compared to the hotties you will be meeting in the future.
You are the sexy chic that all the men want and don't you ever forget it!

Maybe Matt confessed to your crush that he likes you, and your crush likes you too but is nice enough to hint to you about his friend.
