Yes, worms can make a cat very sick.
They can also make you very sick if you don't wash your hands properly after playing with the cat or changing the litter.
Please take the cat to the Vet and find out just what kind of worms it has.
The Vet will give you medication for the cat in the proper dosage for the age and weight of your cat.
Please DO NOT buy OTC wormer, they don't work well IF at all and can be toxic to some cats resulting in death.

Depends on the type of worm. A cat infected with roundworms will often vomit and one or two of the worms will be readily seen in the mess. But tapeworms settle in the cat's large intestine and its segments will appear in the cat's stool or wriggling from the butt. Deworm your cat if you suspect it may have worms; but find out what type of worm in order to administer the right dewormer. You may need a vet if you aren't sure what to look for.

If your cat is sicking up worms then I cannot stress enough how important it is to take it to the vets RIGHT AWAY.
(better to get it checked out and find there is nothing wrong, than to have you cat get seriously ill and maybe die.)

If it's vomiting worms, it is more likely that the worms it is vomiting are earth worms that it has eaten, than parasitic worms living in its gut. It would however be a good idea to visit the vet, talk to them about it and to get it wormed.

Hopefully, you did take the cat to the vet. The vet must treat the cat. If not, the baby can die.

Get the cat to the vet. This only happens with a SERIOUS infection.

I must admit, I've never heard of that. I did a bit of research on the web and couldn't find anything on it!
They do come out in their poo, which is quite disturbing if you've never seen it before!!!
If your cat is vomiting worms, I would say that you need to take him/her to the vet IMMEDIATELY.
