Both are same. I think what you mean is "dif b/w a sweet heart or beloved(girl whom you love) and a girl friend.
In common languae, while communicating, people mean girl friend as beloved which is wrong.
If my interpretation of your question is right, yes, there is difference between a beloved and a girl friend. for eg.: I have many girl friends who are my well wishers and pals. But, I have no beloved or a sweet heart. Hope you got my point??!!

well if you have any male friends you don't call them your boyfriends do you? why? its obvious you probably have no intentions on bedding them,but you will go out with them.
A girlfriend you may end up with as your partner
a female who is your friend who is not going to go there however she will go out with you
but men being men you probably wish still don't yah?
