Well it was too cold here in Croatia to have a barbie, so we had morning tea with our fellow Croats. Made them eat vegemite on toast, (that wasnt good), salt n' vinegar chips (they'd never had them), anzac biscuits (pulled faces) and finally Tim Tams that were scoffed down. We taught them how to bite off the corner, and drink coffee through them. Now I think, that they think Aussies are a bit strange!!
Wish we were home....................

pretty random question to ask on a website loaded with Americans. I'm from Melbourne originally, but moved to New Zealand a couple of years back. I have been living in Japan for the last couple of years, and I was at work the other day (in NZ) and they were saying it was Australia Day. I had completely forgotten I wanted to kick myself! But when I was back in Aus I would go to the local fireworks display and hang out with friends.

Here in the States we generally drink enormous amounts of Fosters, eat shrimp and sing Australian songs until we are hoarse. Every household will hang a map of the world upside down so Australia is in it's proper alignment in relation to the world. Top and center.
The next day, hung over from the celebrations, we curse you.

Investaged by the Australian flag police (my uncle over the phone
I watched cricket and recorded the rest.
Went swimming, played cards, chatted and had a BBQ with the youth of my church.
I had so much fun.

I stay in a beach city and we are having a coastline pageant, so i'm incredibly looking forward to that. we are going to have a fish fry for lunch, accompanied by utilising domicile made lamingtons. Then the youngsters can flow mountain mountain climbing on the cliffs and play on the coastline.

Slept in late (love public holidays), went shopping, got some prawns. Went to a barbie. went home, cooked the prawns for dinner (mmm, garlic prawns). went to a different party. then, to cap it all off, the wait in the emergency room when one of my friends children inevitably broke their arm!
its all fun and games until someone gets pushed off the trampoline!
