Funny u said that! there are many people believers or non that seem to know what the "good book" "says" but never read the thing!

It could be because the Bible is a rather large book and when someone wants to know something most of the time they want to know it soon. I know that if there were something I was wondering about I would ask and if someone could just tell me where in the Bible I could find the answer I would go and look it up and read it but I think most people don't feel like reading the Bible front to back every time they wonder about something. Its called asking for help.

They most likely have had the bible read and explained to them by a religious group. But when they read it for themselves it reads differently. Others may be from other countries that only have a English translation which they cannot follow very well. The rest have just read bits and pieces of it and are getting them mixed up.The smallest part of them are just poking fun at parts or trying to catch those that think they know the Bible off guard for their own amusement.

~sigh~

I don't know. I don't know why people don't just google a lot of other things, either.

I don't know why people pose idiotic questions here that are based in the lie that kids cannot pray in U.S. public schools. It's easy to look up the page on the Department of Education website that specifically spells out what it actual and factual about that.

It's also easy to look up the Department of the Treasury website and find out when and how "In God We Trust" got added to our currency.

It's also easy to look up the history of the Pledge of Allegiance....and to figure out from the dates that some of the politicians who make a big fuss about "under God" staying in the Pledge are old enough to have said the Pledge without that phrase, so they ought to know better than to claim that ti's "always" been there.

And it's easy to look up the facts about all the times that the ACLU defends the religious liberties of Christians...and yet people ask questions based on the lie that this doens't happen.

Well, maybe I do know.

I think that a lot of people hear things - from talk-show "personalities", on "infotainment" channels, and such, and read things on partisan blogs that they just parrot here without ever trying to find anything out themselves.

In other words, no critical thinking skills, no elementary research skills, and no desire to find out what is so.

BTW, your question can also be asked of those who do not take the time to read the Quran, or the Bhagavad Gita, or any books on Buddhism or Taoism or Paganism before posting questions or comments about those religions or those source books.

Well I tell ya what, my friend.

Online talking involves no REAL COMMUNICATION (and sometimes no real sense)

You see, I've got A FIVE STEP PLAN (well maybe a 3-step one) for Your Life

#1 Realize that people always jump to conclusions

#2 Who gives a hoot nowadays enough to read the Bible

#3 Anti-religious (and even religious) people use weapons of speculation, stereotypes, and assumptions even though they have NOT READ anything in it's entirety.

#4 You've just gotta let the Ignorant people be IGNORANT

#5....RIGHT AFTER THESE MESSAGES (C'mon audience!... CLAP!! --We're at commercial)

We people are imperfect. We may misquote something but our intentions are good. God understands the as people we make mistakes. Why do we go on here? I guess to spread Gods word even if we do it imperfectly and for human interaction. You don't meet a lot of people in church who are not believers so we are going to the by-ways and highways to meet them. I do read the bible and do not intentionally miss quote anything.

We're too busy reading the Qur'an.

Some questions lead me to the Bible, however. Especially those from Atheists. They seem to know the Bible quite well, although they don't seem to comprehen it...

I think it is good. It show enquiring minds.

Least they get the opportunity to inter-react with people.
I agree it is important for people to expose themselves to Gods word. Star in Gospel of John.

because they cannot understand it anyways? Especially the King James Bible, all that poetry is too much for many people, and if you want a Bible verse for why read this; Isaiah 6:10 Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.
Matthew 13:15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
Also the Serpent asked the Questions and these are the answers Eve was suppose to give not maybe or that makes sense lets do it. Eat that fruit.

Because R&S is so much fun, and we can get other people's opinions on what the verses mean. It's a melting pot of ideas in here.
