short answer..it could go either way, tyson could get lucky and use his power to put ali down, or ali could finesse him and wear him out and beat him down...im assuming you mean both are in their prime...

If they fought 3 times. Ali would take 2 Tyson 1. Tyson was just like Joe Frazier but better. But with Ali's speed and moves it would frustrate mike. I dont think mike would be able to knock ali out either. So it would have to go to the scorecards where ali would be piling up the points.

In their prime, yes? Real simply, Ali had the speed and footwork to keep away from Tyson's huge shots. And when Tyson would land some haymakers, and that would be inevitable, Ali had the chin and guts to get through the tough spots. Ali would be able to expose Tyson's shortness of height and arms to win a safe decision.

Depending on the time of your career you are talking about. If you are discussing about their prime I would choose Ali Why?

1. Ali had a tremendous jab with speed and would keep Tyson at bay for the majority of the fight
2. Ali like Holyfield would frustrate Tyson into making enough errors so to let Ali take advantage.
3. In some ways Tyson is like Foreman so Ali in his prime could take a punch with the best of them and I think Tyson like Foreman would wear down and Ali could put him away late in the fight or give him a boxing lesson and win by decision on points.
4. Ali had one of the greatest trainers in boxing in Angelo Dundee. yes D'Amato's inspiration with Tyson was extremely helpful but without D'Amato I think Tyson is searching for answers to combat Ali.
5. Ali's use of psychological warfare before any fight ( just ask Joe Frazier) was unique among boxers and it has shown in the past that Tyson could be easily rattled so Ali would definitely take advantage of such a faux pas and give Tyson a hard time.
6. To fight successfully against Ali you had to be multi-faceted and not just a slugger but an accomplished boxer with a punching prowess and a quick stiff jab to enable Tyson to get inside todo more damage.
7.My prediction on the fight is Ali by unanimous decision.

Ali by KO, decision, or DQ any one. Ali would not have been standing in front of Tyson. Alot of Tyson's opponents were defeated psychologically before the fight began ---they had no plan. That as everybody knows does not apply to Ali. I seriously believe Tyson would have been disqualified as he was in the Holyfield fight. Ali would have frustrated Tyson because Tyson wouldn't be able to hit him.

Ali would win this fight with ease. His defensive skills in his prime were top notch. Tyson's biggest achilles heel was frustration when he couldn't get to a guy. Ali would take Tyson into the later rounds and then either punish him to the distance or finish him with a late round ko.

Ali....He had the chin to take Tysons punches(Holyfield did), Ali's much faster then Tyson, Ali's more of a complete boxing then Tyson, Ali has alot more ring smarts, Ali won more championships, & Ali proved himself with better competition(Foreman, Frazier, Norton, Liston, Patterson, Spinks, & plenty others). Ali all day...

ranking them i would hav 2 say ali should b higher rank than tyson but if tyson would hav continuly train hard work on his skills he would of beat ali or any other heavyweight but after he lost em he went down the drain but in a fight with tyson's skill i would say tyson but without em easily ali

welcome to the ali vs tyson dimension, mon, think you're the 5,213,509th person to ask this question(myself included) and i admit it's hard to find new ways to answer this question, but i will take a jab at a new approach - of course this would be both ali and tyson in their respective primes. i must point out that i am a huge fan of both, probably the biggest fan of both - the two best heavyweights, if not fighters, of all time. so, examining ali's often quoted line, "float like a butterfly..." ali had too much movement for tyson and tyson would've had to lunge at ali to make any contact, bec a prime ali would be just too fast and too fluid for tyson to really set and land his power punches and combos., this would've enabled ali to see all of tyson's attacks coming and he would easily parry and counter mike's offense; "..sting like a bee..." ali had grossly underrated power! liston was quoted as saying, "i thought they said he couldn't hit." ali' "turned" his wrist at the tail end of his jab. this is a move common in the martial arts world and adds significant snap/force to a punch. ali didn't throw punches in the classic way, turning his weight into it - like tyson did to great effect. ali's punches were arm punches often thrown while in motion/flight...that turning of the wrist gave him incredible power, and his accuracy and speed made that power almost lethal. by snapping the jab, ali would've thrown tyson's rhythm off. constant jabs to the head wear down an opponent over time by discombobulating(a cosellism) him. as a result, ali would've had a field day w/tyson and totally overwhelmed him w/his style. in the middle rounds, once tyson closed the gap a little he would've landed some great shots aganst ali, bec mike was pretty darn quick, but ali would've maintained/regained control of the fight. as much as i love tyson, taking ali's success w/power punchers into consideration, i see ali "taking him to deep water and drowning him"(holmesism), puffing him up, swelling his eyes, cutting him up, and eventually knocking him out, somewhere's around round 8-10. i cannot tell you how sad that makes me to admit, bec i love both these guys sooo much!
