In 2005 I had Radiation treatment for Breast Cancer. I seem to be healing fine, and all my check-ups are fine.
But in December 2006, I caught my first bad cold which went into bronchitis - bad coughing.
Ever since then, my rib cage has been sore. My doctor took a chest xray to see if I had cracked a rib, but it showed everything was normal. He said it takes a long time for the muscles to heal from all the coughing, and told me to take extra calcium.
Anyone have any idea what is going on ? How long am I going to be sore like this ? Anything else that I can do to feel better ?

Your doctor answered your question for you. When you have a serious case of bronchitis, the coughing can be extremely violent. Those muscles that support and work your lungs get strained and they can take a good while to heal. I understand exactly what you're talking about as I've had this condition on numerous occasions. I used to suffer from chronic bronchitis. I moved to Nevada and the desert seemed to clear that chronic condition right up. A muscle relaxer would help you a ton, if the doctor should prescribe it.

ps: Congratulations on the remission of your breast cancer. I just had a bone marrow transplant after 2 rounds of cancer. Whoop! Hang in there! =)

I had breast cancer and radiation too, and if I remember right they said that the rads can make your bones brittle. That might be the case.

Some Yoga therapy would be harmless, but profitable! Esp. with breathing exercise under guidance!
