Same as Buddha, to be awake. "I and the father are one" is enlightenment the way I understand it. I'm surprised you did not know this, or did you?

"Christ Consciousness" is a New Age concept based on Hinduism. In short, this view maintains that the term "Christ" refers to a cosmic unity, or an impersonal God. All human beings are manifestations of Christ, but because of our finite minds we are incapable of recognizing that we are all Christ. Enlightenment consists of recognizing that you are the Christ. This awareness is called the "Christ Consciouness," and characterizes all great religious leaders, including the man, Jesus of Nazareth. According to this view, Jesus was just a normal human being who happened to be enlightened to the fact that he was Christ, and his mission on earth was to awaken the same knowledge in mankind.
