I painted the trim in my room a few hours ago, using a latex primer and a latex paint. The paint has dried, but there's still a slight smell in the room. I've opted to not sleep in there this evening, but was wondering if there was a standard amount of time to wait before spending extended amounts of time in a freshly-painted room.

depending on the type of paint(which better be latex based not lead based) for starters. give it 12 hours. younger children in the room 24 but its best to usually wait for the paint to cure. once it does its safe.
