Because we are human, love is very powerful and overrides hate very easily, its kinda like a love hate relationship. I think your in my shoes, I been divorced for 18 years and never re-married, although I had a couple of relationships, and countless one night stands, I still think about the love I for my ex-wife, we were young and she was my first, I think that had a lot to do with the feelings I still have for her, we have children together and had it made, she decided she liked my dealer in drugs neighbor more, so she left me....I didn't even see it coming, I really loved that women. I could never be unfaithful to anyone while I'm in a relationship, I'm still searching for my soul mate, and haven't found her yet...If theirs anyone in the same situation please e-mail at craiggraham42@hotmail.com I'm full of love and would like to share it with that special women....you may also call me to (530) 926-2668 my name is Rod Irving and I'll be looking forward to hearing from you. People say I look like Fabio, whoever that is.

You mean, lose hope in finding love in a particular person? Perhaps because you actually haven't completely lost hope ... you may still have that 0.1% that clings to the wrong thing. In such cases, hope is the same thing as dread, because that 0.1% is struggling against the 99.9% that sees things differently. Sometimes you need to give up that 0.1% of hope, to give yourself room for a new hope, in a new chance at love. Some good ancient Chinese wisdom that's helped me, more than 2,000 years old from Lao Tse:
Success is as dangerous as failure.
Hope is as hollow as fear.
What does it mean that success is a dangerous as failure?
Whether you go up the ladder or down it,
you position is shaky.
When you stand with your two feet on the ground,
you will always keep your balance.
What does it mean that hope is as hollow as fear?
Hope and fear are both phantoms
that arise from thinking of the self.
When we don't see the self as self,
what do we have to fear?
See the world as your self.
Have faith in the way things are.
Love the world as your self;
then you can care for all things.

You don't really lose all hope in love. You just get a little beat up by it. You'll be back in the game before long. That's one of the unreasonable demands nature makes on us in order to keep the human race going. You might as well just be a good sport about it.

Because it is natural to want to love and be loved. Don't give up because of a few bad experiences. The best thing to do is not have any expectations when it comes to love. That way if you get screwed over you won't be as disappointed and if something good happens to you you might be pleasantly surprised.

Because you realise that at some stage you will not want to be alone, and so you have an eternal hope for happiness and a relationship.

I guess because even at my age (45) there's a little bit of hope left inside that it could still happen. And that we want it to.

Because no one really abandonds love - only the idea of love. Eventually someone will come along, usually when you least expect it, and love will find you again.
Good Luck!
Aloha!
