There are two types of monitors for keyboards. Stage monitors, which were mentioned in the first post & studio monitors.

Stage monitors offer high volume so you can hear yourself playing when performing live on stage. They usually are passive, which means they require an amplifier. JBL makes good stage monitors.

Studio monitors offer high quality sound, so you can hear subtle details when recording. They are usually active, which means they have built in amplifiers. KRK makes good studio monitors.

Speakers are what is used for the audience to hear you perform. They are usually passive. EAW makes good speakers.

QSC makes good amps.

Monitors are angled amps positioned at the front of the stage and pointed towards the band. They help each member of the band hear each other properly keeping the band together.

Best bet is get advice from your local store.
