Another question about suicide in dreams. Last night I dreamt that I shot myself in the head and saw the ambulance come and pronounce me dead. Saw my husband calling my mother and her screaming but then saying "I always knew she was messed up". It just seemed that everyone was happy that I was gone. My ex told my husband "well I guess she made us both very happy". WHen I woke up this morning, I wasn't sad it was weird like I was okay with dying. I have tried to commit suicide once 15 years ago and have a history of physical and emotional abuse since I was 8.

I am taking trazodone at night to help me sleep and celexa in the morning. I just started it taking it 2 weeks ago.
Do you think I need to change my meds?
Do you think there is some correlation between my dreams and my depression?
I always thought dreams were kind of like a brain dump and didn't have any real meaning. WHat do you think?

Dreams are only dreams. Your brain is just remembering stuff and turning them into dreams. It's being active.

Firstly to see what the dream experts say about your dream and then we will analyze deeper:

To dream that you commit suicide, denotes that conditions in your life is so frustrating that you are no longer willing to cope with a situation or relationship in the same way as you did in the past. Alternatively, you may be unable to overcome feelings of guilt and thus turning the aggression on yourself. On a more positive note, it may suggest that you are saying good-bye to one aspect of yourself or character that your have been carrying around.

I am taking depression medicines too, amytriptilin's, the medicine takes time to get into the blood system, something like three weeks at the minimum, give it more time for your meds to kick into your system, there is correlation between your dreams and reality and it also works as a brain dump.

I have been analyzing dreams for years and i get wierd dreams which relate in a very minute way to my life, in your case you are anxious about these new medicine you have started and you expect a new life out of it, suicide also denotes the end of an old life and starting of a new life, take it easy, one step at a time.

If symptoms persist, seek medical advice.

Disclaimer, I am not a psychologist or psychiatrist, just a mom who woke up in the middle of the night and was surfing.

I think you are having a bad reaction to the drugs. I think you should call your psych right away. I toook Celexa years ago and had a similar reaction. I think sometimes it is not worth the risk to take this crap. I ended up making lemon balm tea and green tea everyday and it eliviated my insomnia and depression. Food for thought.

As for the emotions. You may be too emotionally dependent on your husband and you mother to feel good about yourself. Your husband would not be your husband if he did not love you, so you are probably feeling insecure because of your mental instability right now. Your mother is probably a pretty judgemental person. Just accept she is not perfect, and set boudaries with her. When she disrespects you, tell her to go away until she can treat you with respect. :)

I send love your way and pray you will find your inner light and flame it. Suicide is not the answer to anything. Ending a life like that makes the life moot and null. Your soul is unique and beautiful and no one else has it. Treasure that spark that is yours and rememebr you are the center of your wheel. Everything else is just going on around you in the spokes. You choose what to deal with and what to dismiss at any point in life:) You are in control of yourself and your actions.

Tell your physician about it immediately. Psychotropic drugs are not to be taken lightly. And yes, sometimes dreams are just a type of data dump. I dreamed, more than once, about being shot in the head trying to save people, and feeling that light headed feeling as life slips away. However, the situation related to the dream solved itself. As it turned out in life, the girl was saved and no one had to get shot. When all else fails, remember the old stand-by, "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar." But, do seek professional advice.

Trazodone has a side effect of making your dreams feel even more real than reality. There are other antidepressants that have the sleepy side effect but without the odd dreams for example remeron, that your doctor can give you.

Dreams are a brain dump. I wouldn't think too much about it, but I do know how more than reality trazodone dreams can be. Tell your doctor.
