YOU are not righteous in your silly names. Heavens Messenger or Soldier of God. I do not care if you want to spread the faith, do so without repenting. Protestants even if your God forgives all, do not think that he wishes you to sin needlessly. Catholics....do you really wish to tell that silly man who is NOT God and is not capable of giving forgiveness that you have sinned.

Confess to your God what you have done and seek forgiveness and make better choices for it is written . Please heed me.

ClEVER GIRL i do not address the heathens! I do not keep pretense that i am Gods right hand man. You are nonsensical in the way you have approached me, failing to understand nearly everything i have said congratulations you imbecile. do not ask for you to worship me, I ask that Christians merely heed my words if they have done wrong in the course of their judgments.

Of what persuasion i belong too? If you mean faith i am Protestant and as such i believe in what is written as well as preached. I am not being gentle i am merely asking for some consideration on the part of those who feel free to basically play God. I dont think God will come down and smite someone fore merely having a name that is sinful for that would not be godly.

You fail to answer my question troll bomb, that man in the booth is not God. God is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient and as such you should not have to confess to a mortal man.

In regards to you question about Catholics and confession:

+ Orally Confessing Sins +

James 5:16 - Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The fervent prayer of a righteous person is very powerful.

Acts 19:18 - Many of those who had become believers came forward and openly acknowledged their former practices.

Matthew 3:5-6 - At that time Jerusalem, all Judea, and the whole region around the Jordan were going out to him (John the Baptist) and were being baptized by him in the Jordan River as they acknowledged their sins.

Mark 1:5 - People of the whole Judean countryside and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem were going out to him (John the Baptist) and were being baptized by him in the Jordan River as they acknowledged their sins.

1 Timothy 6:12 - Compete well for the faith. Lay hold of eternal life, to which you were called when you made the noble confession in the presence of many witnesses.

1 John 1:9 - If we acknowledge our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from every wrongdoing.

Numbers 5:6-7 - "Tell the Israelites: If a man (or a woman) commits a fault against his fellow man and wrongs him, thus breaking faith with the LORD, he shall confess the wrong he has done, restore his ill-gotten goods in full, and in addition give one fifth of their value to the one he has wronged."

Nehemiah 9:2 - Those of Israelite descent separated themselves from all who were of foreign extraction, then stood forward and confessed their sins and the guilty deeds of their fathers.

Sirach 4:26 - Be not ashamed to acknowledge your guilt, but of your ignorance rather be ashamed.

+ Reconciliation +

The Catholic Church believes that "Only God forgives sin."

When a penitent person asks God for forgiveness, his (or her) sins are immediately forgiven.

Catholics also believe that when someone sins they not only hurt their relationship with God, they also injure the entire church, the body of Christ.

Jesus said, "I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." (Matthew 16:19)

And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them,"Receive the holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained." (Luke 20:22-23)

The Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation with a priest ordained in the name of Jesus Christ not only reconciles the sinner to God but with the entire church, including you and me.

+ With love in Christ.

5:16
"Confess your "FAULTS" one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."

Take note: There is not mention of the word "SIN" in this verse for your information.

Catechism admits that confession of sins to a priest are not instructions from God, but traditions of men.

Now, tell me where in the NT it says we must atone for our sins with Hail Marys? Give me a break!

The KJV Translators believed in the validity of the Septuagint Translation. The Septuagint, the ancient Greek Old Testament used in the time of Jesus and the Apostles.

This is why many modern day Theologians reject the KJV of the Scriptures and prefer the new modern liberal altered versions of the Bible.

In reality, these new modern liberal altered texts change many doctrines of the Bible and deny the Deity of Christ.

Now, Tradition over Scripture.

As usual, someone decides to follow the old commandments that were given to the Israelites, and fails to realize that Jesus gave us new ones.

Keep the old law and all you'll get is a curse.

Jesus gave us a NEW and BETTER covenant, not a refurbished one.

He also gave power and authority only to the church he personally founded ... NOT a book, so you're wrong on both counts.

As for Catholics, the first thing Jesus did after his resurrection was give his apostles, the first Catholic bishops, the power to forgive sins in his name.

It was the most radical and innovative way of dealing with sin since the garden of eden, and it proved that Jesus' primary mission was to make the forgiveness of sins possible.

Three strikes and you're out!

You are a false teacher.

Get your theology straight before you attempt to preach! You are leading others astray.

The commandments are guide posts. The parimeter of the laws one must keep within the boundaries set. But grace from God is necessary for none can keep the laws and not fail badly if you follow the essence of the laws Jesus outlines. Follow Jesus' demand that we love one another and love God with all your mind, heart and soul and strength. When one cultivates the above, God's grace will abound. Finally if that still can't help one then one can go to Jesus for forgiveness as he is the advocate or intercessor between you and father God. In other words, you are saved and safe..

Actually, with a question and the way you have personalised your comments..it seems that you are showing an unloving attitude..like so many "christians".

Even if the substance of what you are saying is true, is there not another way you can speak truth? Was there anything loving, gentle or kind about your comments? I would be interested to know of what persuasion you belong to.....perhaps there is some speck or blemish in what you believe also.

Confession is in line with scripture.
If we SAY that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us
If we CONFESS our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse our from all unrighteousness.
If we SAY that we have not sinned, we make him a liar. -1John 8-10
If i confess it to the priest OR say it to the priest, what is the difference? If say that I have not sinned to the priest I surely am sinning. What is your point? Read your Bible. Please do not presume to tell me that you know how better that God should forgive my sins. The man in the booth doesn't have to be God. Read the scripture. We say it before man and confess it before God. This is sorta Sunday school theology.

Your arrogance betrays you. Like the Pharisees, you stand up and in your pride announce your righteous superiority to all. Perhaps YOU should spend a little time reading the Bible.

Uh...ok. I'm shocked actually, a "Christian" telling others that they don't know that they must change their evil ways. Shocking! It's amazing how many are God's right hand man. Here to tell us all heathens how we must repent. How lucky all us members of Yahoo! Answers are!

Are you picking up on the sarcasm? 'Cause I'm laying it on pretty thick!
