Radiology techs do get a higher dose of radiation than the public. But they are also closely monitored by dosimeter badges.

Not really. The new equipment produces smaller amounts of scatter radiation, as well as if you follow the proper procedures and stand behind the shield, the exposure is really minimal. Hope this helps.

No, I am a nuclear tech and we get more radiation than a rad tech, but it is still very small. I were two badges- one on my finger and on my chest- these monitor my dosage, but i still receive less radiation dose than someone who lives in say, Colorado. (They live in a higher elevation).

FYI, The job that gets the highest radiation exposure in the US is airline pilots.

ever noticed those xray techs stand behind a screen? yah thats lead and that glass? leaded glass (thats actually REALLY expensive glass) they do this to lower there exposures. they should be perfectly within normal exposure levels for the average person
