You are still doing weed(grass,Mary Jane, marijuana) THC the active ingredient in marijuana has been known for years to diminish short term memory. Probably you are forgetting just how much weed you do. Try this. Go at least a week without any drugs. if your short term memory improves you have your answer.

If you love weed and most pot heads do try smoking only on Friday night and Saturday. Smoke as much as you can get. Do not smoke any other time. This will give the THC enough time to get out of your system between sessions. THC is fat soluble (collects in your gonads and what is left of your brain). If you smoke this way you will find you can get higher with less pot. A savings of money for you and lessening long term effects on every part of your body.

Want to get really waisted on less pot. Learn to make brownies (chocolate is best and you can use a mix) and put the pot from a few reefers in the mix. You will take a bit longer to get high but you will stay waisted for longer and enjoy it more. You won't hurt your lungs (pot burns hotter than tobacco and does about 10 times the damage per toke) Also since pot gives you the munchies the brownies will be goood.

As I used to tell my students some years ago. I could tell you to stop drugs and I am telling you to stop drugs. These measures may save you until you get enough sense to quit.

I have a sister that sounded like you when she was in college. She cries almost everyday because she knows that she has lost something of herself because of her occasional use. She thought it wasn't much until she looked back at the ways she changed in her activities and education. She couldn't take the higher classes and had to lower her goals to something a lot less in her life. Her social life that would have helped her later was practically gone. She misses it now. Of course, alcohol is similar in it's effects but in a different way in how it can destroy functions and organs of the body. If you think it may be the drugs and you believe that you are just an occasional or moderate user, you might try giving them up for 6 months to a year completely. Don't replace them with alcohol or anything else. As a scientific test to see if your memory improves. It may also open your eyes to how much you are actually using and if you might be abusing and/or addicted to them. Good luck.

If you have only taken these substances a few times in your life, it is most likely a personal distraction or neurological issue. If you are presently a smoker, it's not so much the green, but that your smoking too much through out the day. Moderation big guy.
