If you make your own oatmeal it's healthier and you can control what's in it. If you add a few chopped dates you won't need any sugar! Try a drop of vanilla and/or cinnamon, diced apple, coconut. Also,if you cook it yourself, add an egg white stirred in while you're cooking it,or some cottage cheese. It keeps you fuller longer and gives it a richer texture, like custard. That's what I ate when I wanted to lose weight! Also, egg white omelettes with veggies!

This my help you with making your oatmeal more tastier:
Personally I like eating old fashioned oatmeal with orange marmalade and dried cranberries.
You can also add
chopped apple, brown sugar, warm apple pie filling with skim milk , honey crunch flavor wheat germ and cinnamon or diced cranberries with maple flavored pancake syrup and also
chunky natural applesauce
Hopefully this will help you.

If you want good oatmeal, you have to buy steel-cut and take the 30 minutes it needs to cook. 1/2 cup oatmeal and 3 cups water. Bring to boil then simmer on low. My favorite toppings are spray butter with a variety of things - onion crunch, real bacon bits, and or toasted almond slivers.

I like oatmeal served with a little milk/a little pet milk/a little sugar/and biscuits. The sugar and milk make it taste better to me.

be careful of the flavoured oatmeals - they are full of added sugar and salt
I like to add dried cranberries, flax, walnuts, pecans, raisins, fruit (peaches are nice) &/or honey
