I strongly feel that this possibility exists. It depends on whether the sanctions can prevent Iran from producing an atomic bomb.
I doubt the effectiveness of the sanctions and feel that Iran will have a nuclear weapon soon. Since the psychotic president of Iran stated openly that he will wipe Israel off the face of the earth this gives the Israelis just cause to be fearful and to take preventive measures by bombing Iran's nuclear facilities. Of course, the UN and world opinion will be against them however they must do what they feel is proper for the protection of the Israeli people.

Not if they want to survive. The days of America helping them logistically and with hardware are just about gone. They wouldn't last another week if they did that.

yes, when iran gets the nuclear bomb israel will drop its nuclear bombs on iran before iran gets the chance to use their's. Only because Israel know that it is only a matter of time before it (such a small country) gets blown off the map.

Short answer, no.

Long answer, they could initiate a strike from the air but that seems unlikely. Currently, Ahmedinijad is having political trouble within his own ranks in Tehran. He may not have the political will to do anything and therefore be restrained for the time being.

Although they are building nuclear facilities, they are currently no threat to Israel.

With enough provocation this could happen. If the anti-semetic ramblings of their president changed to active aggression they would find out why Israel is one of the 8 most powerful miltaries on earth. Iran is not and not even a nuclear bomb will swing that balance of power.

That's a tough way to live huh ? Certain countries in that region are constantly trying to draw Israel and her only real political ally ,the USA, into regional conflicts....
