I started going to the doctor because i have been dealing with persistant nausea for about 7 months now. basically everything and anything causes me to feel nauseous ALL the time. I had a couple blood tests done along w/ the urine test and she had no clue what it was. she advised to make an appointment for an ultrasound and if that showed nothing that i would go to a specialist. She had mentioned that my syptoms sounded like some kind of ulcer but not likely. i just received a letter saying that i have IBS which came out of nowhere. I've only had blood tests done so does anyone know what test would show it was IBS? She told me to just go to the classes available at the hospital.
Also, my symptoms are persistant nausea, burning sensation in the stomach like i havent eaten in a long time, get hungry every 2-3 hrs and lots of burping. No specific food seems to make it worse either.

i don´t think that you have IBS, in my opinion w/o your tests results it sound more like acid reflux or ulcer problems, i suggest an endoscopy, better go to a gastroenterologist. good luck

It sounds like your symptoms are only related to your stomach. Irritable Bowel Syndrome is characterized by alternating diarrhea and constipation.
Irritable bowel syndrome involves a combination of abdominal pain and alternating constipation and diarrhea. There are many possible causes. For instance, there may be a problem with muscle movement in the intestine or a lower tolerance for stretching and movement of the intestine. There is no problem in the structure of the intestine.

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) can occur at any age, but often begins in adolescence or early adulthood. It is more common in women. Risk factors may include a low-fiber diet, emotional stress, use of laxatives, having had infectious diarrhea, or other temporary bowel inflammation.

The symptoms are:
Chronic and frequent diarrhea, usually accompanied by pain
Chronic and frequent constipation, usually accompanied by pain
Abdominal pain or tenderness
Following meals
Relieved by bowel movement
Intermittent
Abdominal fullness, gas, bloating
Abdominal distention
Nausea and vomiting
Loss of appetite
Emotional distress
Depression

I suggest a second opinion.

Good luck to you
