I was walking on campus and this girl with her group of friends were walking past me. The girl stopped chatting and said "hi" to me and i was stunned because i didn't know who she was. I then let out a "hi" back and continued walking. She and friends did the same and giggled. I was totally lost....

She was probably in a really good mood and felt like being nice and friendly. When you are really happy and stuff you tend to do random things or say random stuff.
OR
She likes you and has been talking to her friends about you and was finally able to say hi to you. Which was why they giggled after.
OR
She is one of those girls that will lead you on and break your heart and the giggles were fake. But don't try to take this into account as it is a rare case since she was with her friends. Unless her friends are like that too..

sorry to say but a lot of times girls act real girly n kinda dumb when they do things like this..... just gigglin with friends and smiling , and the guy is totally lost and doesnt know what the hell just happened!... basically, the girl thought you were cute, or likes you, she probably does know who u are even though you dont know who she is.... if you thought she was cute you should talk to her, next time you see her say hi, pull her away from her friends and ask her out on a date.... just watch,if you do this , you will have her friends gigglin even more ...

It could either be that they thought you were cute or they were just being friendly or in the worst case making fun of you
Girls can be mean when they want to be, I'm a girl and I don't understand why girls want to be like that!

She was paying you a compliment. She had probably seen you before.I doubt that these young ladies walking past you was an accident.It was planned. She had already told them about you and want them to 'meet' you even though she did not know you herself.

yup that is me for sure like the joke is on me all the time and I am the only one without a clue. It is okay to laugh at me I am not insecure I just want to know what for and why? I say hi to lots of people; even some I don't know; doesn't mean I'm in love with them. She was probably just being friendly.
