Ayone agree with my idea that there should be a drinker's education class? When you turn 17 you take a 1 or 2 week course and learn about alcohol's history, it's varieties, and mainly its effects. Then when you turn 18 or whatever, you get certified and are able to purchase alcohol. Would prevent all these morons who turn 21 and believe they can drink 21 shots and wind up choking on their own vomit.

Problem with that is the same with sex education. The smart ones stay safe but its the stupid ones that keep the STD rates so high. When I was 17, Michigan had a drinking age of 18. Well they then put it on the ballot to raise the legal age to 21. Now if all the 18 yr olds would have been smart and went to vote or registered to vote and then did, the age would not have been changed.
Of course now that I am well above legal drinking age but mostly because I am smarter now then I was then. I would probably vote to keep it at 21. I work with a few younger guys (mid 20's) whose Idea of a good time is going out to a Bar and seeing how much they can drink before they puke. To them that's fun. I think immature, dangerous, definitely not fun in my book. I worry that one of them may kill himself or someone else in a car accident if they are driving.
