Speaking as someone with anxiety, I'd agree with what the last guy said. Should see a doc if it's really bothering you, which it sounds like it is.

The other people who are answering are suggesting that this is something wrong with you and your thought patterns, but that's probably not the case.
You probably have panic disorder, a specific type of anxiety disorder which causes rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, and unexplained feelings of panic.
Long-term, these "panic attacks" can become more frequent and more severe. Insomnia, nausea, muscle tension, and other physical symptoms can result. You may also become agoraphobic (The extreme tendency to avoid situations where you have had panic attacks before) or form phobias.
Panic disorder is a mental illness with symptoms critera by the DSM IV. A psychiatrist can formally diagnose you, but your doctor can make the assumption and prescribe you anti-anxiety medication which corrects the physiological problem.
Usually, SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) are used. These medications echo serotonin transmission between neurons. Serotonin is the neurotransmitter which allows the brain to effectively communicate and resolve thoughts. When it is not being absorbed by neurons in substantially high enough amounts, you can acquire an anxiety disorder or clinical depression. Scientists and doctors theorize that there are probably genetic causes for these illnesses.
Fortunately, they are curable with medication and therapy.

Seek a therapist, they can teach you how to re-train your thinking and help stave off an anxiety attack before it gets out of control. Think to yourself, "Did I die last time of an anxiety attack? No? Well then I will live through this one." I know it seems silly to say it now, but when you are in anxiety mode, it is actually calming. Try to think about other things when you feel one coming on, much like you would re-direct a child who is starting to throw a tantrum. You can get through this and if your medicine doesn't seem to work, be up front with your doctor. They are there to help.

I kind of have the same problem that you have but i don't think that my is as big as yours. Life is too short not to live it to it fullest. I know that it is not easy to break out from the habit just like that, but try to be with a lot of people all the chance that you've got that will really help you out. And that will help you from being able to have a panic attack. I think that usually happened when you alone. Because the last one i had was in my classroom and i had to excused myself. But you can always see a counseling that sometimes help, I'm doing the samething now, but it may not help if you don't like to talk to other people or not comfortable with who you are with. Also talk to a doctor. But you know if you keep taking drugs you will get use to it and may not be able to live without it, the drugs may not do the fuction it suppose to do anymore because your body will get adapted to it for taking it so many times.

I think you first need to figure out what causes your anxiety. Once you do that you can deal with your problem.
I've been there, and then I realized that life is too short to be scared! You can change your life without pills or drugs. Live your life exactly how you want to.
Talk to someone when you feel yourself getting anxious, take a deep breathe and calm yourself down. Think of your happiest moment and just allow yourself to be calm.
Remember, don't let life pass you by

hi there ! all of us go thro a phase of anxiety for so many reasons. it cud be exams/ decisions on career/ marriage/ problem with finances, health, spouse or so many 100s of reasons. u need to understand life is all about change and the same situation may not persist after few days, months or years.Having control on the way you breathe will help you oxyginate your cells and thereby give you positive energy which in turn means positive thinking. find a time which suits u best ...early morn will be preferable (its peaceful when all are asleep) . sip a glass on warm water. sit down facing the east and take a deep breathe in ...as u breathe in your chest and abdomen should expand and breathe out slowly let ur chest and abs contract. do this few times then breath in again and as u exhale say the will Om and try to say it as slowly as possible. ... so breathe in slowly and breathe out slowly saying the word Om. do this 3 times keeping ur eyes closed. start with this and u'll find an improvement then a few more breathing exercises can follow....tell me after u try this out for a week...

Hi,
Try seeking a behavioral therapist that can help in changing your thinking patterns. It will be hard and you will need great effort to make yourself change. In the meantime, take it slow and steady and try asking your Dr. about short-term anti-anxiety meds like Xanax as a last resort.

I would try to find out what makes you feel this way, when did it start, did anything happen to you? A counselor might help with this & a short term medication.
I would also start to exercise, do yoga, pilates, swimming, walking on the beach & some meditation could help too.
Keep a journal.

first, what is your life style.do you go to school, work, have time for yourself,do you take at least 30 mins. for yourself daily in total quiet to know and find out who you are ? do your accept and like yourself for who you are do your feel you don't measure up to another's standards?young people are hard on themselves if they feel their not what they should be in their parents eyes.also many people feel that a personal relationship with God isn't important but that relationship can stablize us and we become better people because of reading the Bible.
