If you are living a good, honest, drug free life, probation is no problem at all, you will breeze through it. If you are scantless, using and generally just breaking the rules, probation will be he!!. You can get raided anytime day or night and they can search your home and dump everything out and there is not a thing yoou can do. If you are messing up, you can go back to jail and have your probation revoked, you may also end up with MORE charges too. Probation will only work for those who stay on the straight and narrow.

It is a suspeded sentence. It is not the same as serving jail time. For if you braek probation. You have to serve all the time you were supposed to recieve before you got probation.
1 year jail time
but put on 1 year probation.
screw up probation in the 11 month
serve 1 year jail time.

Probation is the time length you must not break any laws or the conditions of probation - it is not jail time but if you violate the probation order you will have to do any time suspended for probation, AND you will have a new charge- Violating Probation. Its nothing to fool with, because if you violate probation it takes years and years to get off probation. They can put you back in jail for any little offense of breaking the law - littering and you're back before the court! Be good, stay low and out of the spot light, and don't violate any part of your probation!

Probation is the suspension of a jail sentence - the criminal who is "on probation" has been convicted of a crime, but instead of serving jail time, has been found by the Court to be amenable to probation and will be returned to the community for a period in which they will have to abide to certain conditions set forth by the Court under the supervision of a probation officer.

It will be if you violate it.
With good behaviour and paying the cost in full you can be let off early in 18 months.after you serve half the probation.
Probation is easy unless you continue to do things you shouldn't do, just abide by the rules.
House arrest is hard, it's very strict and for some it's better to go to jail and get it over with.

The only difference is you get to serve a jail sentence on the outside but, if you even think about coughing in public they will
have every right to give you any problem possible. If there is still
a few years left on a jail sentence your better off just serving
your time. That way they can't act like you've still got that striped
suit on!!!!

No way is probation like being in jail. You still have your freedoms to say go walk bear foot in the grass take a shower without everyone watching.Don't mess up your probation.walk the straight and narrow do exactly what they expect of you.believe me you don't want to spend a day in jail if you can keep from it.Take it from someone who knows enjoy your freedoms. In jail you have none.

Probation is equal to jail time. The criminal is just being given a chance to rehabilitate rather than being incarcerated.
