My grandfather that passed a couple years back him and I weren't close at all. I have never lossed anyone that I was this close to. Any suggestions on how to cope through this hard time in my life?

there is nothing you can do to forget about it. My papa passed away when i was 8, and i still cry every time i see a picture of him. honestly, just think of the happy times together. You will cry and be sad, but thinking of all the good times you had together makes you feel better.

I lost my Dad in March 2005. I still cry everyday, especially at night when I go to bed. Everything about my life has changed, but I am extremely grateful to know that I had the best Dad. You hurt because you had a wonderful Grandmother, just remember to be thankful that you had her even though it hurts now.

Talking is very important. I lost my dad 14 years ago and not a day goes by that I don't think of him. The first 2-3 years after his death was very difficult for me. Find someone who is close to you and share your feelings. Death is a tough issue to deal with and everyone deals with it differently. The grieving process is long and please know at the end of it you will be able to think of your loved one and smile because you have so may wonderful memories.
Remember....."today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday...and all is well"

I lost both of my parents before the age of ten, I talked it out, as I still do that today. And you have to have someone you can trust to talk to. Also, talk to your family, and confide in them, especially people that knew your grandmother.

its a devasting thing to lose someone you cared for. there are several stages youll experience, but its best to feel what your feeling, ride it out and move on in your own time. dont self medicate or try to numb the pain because it will prolong the healing process.

sorry for your loss.
I just lost ANOTHER brother, 6 months ago, both to an accident.
the first almost 20 years ago.
i found being with my family and my husband helped.
but i will also be starting to go to counselling soon.
