There is a very little known or acknowledged link between allergies and obesity. So "diets" might not help at all and if you've tried diet and exercise before with little or no weight loss, then I have a recommendation for you.
Get tested for food allergies.
I struggled with my weight for years. I'd go on 1200 calorie diets and gain weight. It didn't matter what I ate (or so it seemed) or how much I worked out. I was still heavy and still gained weight.
I struggled with severe airborne allergies, and asthma. Every year they got worse, every year there were more sinus infections. I also had IBS btw as well.
It was by chance (trip to Europe) that I figured out it was a food allergy to corn.
By cutting out corn, corn starch, corn syrup, etc. I lost 50lbs in 3 months. I didn't even exercise. My airborne allergies disappeared. My IBS vanished. And other little problems that I would never have considered to be allergy related went away as well.
That was 3 yrs ago now, and I haven't gained an ounce of it back. Though if I do eat something with corn in it, I will put on 5lbs in 24 hours. It comes right back off if I stop eating corn.
If you do get testing done, cut out any food that even shows the slightest reaction. Cut them out for 4 months, then trial them (if you're that brave, of course depending on the severity of the allergy).
If you think I'm crazy (which you probably do), do a search for Food Allergy Addiction and you'll find a bunch of information.
If you're certain you don't have any food allergies, then limit your carbs, make sure you're using good fats, avoid all fake sugars & corn syrup (these often make you crave sweets, which is the last thing you need to do on a diet. Its best to use regular sugar if you want something sweet.) Use whole grains as much as possible, Kashi has some good cereals btw. Eat plenty of meats/protiens and veggies. And exercise. If you can't walk, lay on your back and stretch your legs, do situps, do an "air" bicycle with your legs. Check out some Elderly Exercising tapes, they give some good exercises you can do while just sitting in a chair.

If you drink soda of ANY TYPE (including diet), STOP now! Not drinking soda will drop off the pounds, not to mention reduce the amount of chemicals you're putting in your body. Diet soda is not a healthy alternative to regular soda. Increase your water intake, about a gallon a day. Increase your fruit & veggies intake while eliminating processed/boxed foods.
Walk daily for now three times, 10 minutes each effort. Once in the morning, once near lunch and once in the evening. Increase that 10 minutes by a minute or two every couple of weeks. Your goal is 30-45 minutes in a row four to five times a week and move all your cardio into one session. Down the road start resistance training, weights/bands. Weights will not make you look like Arnold, they are necessary for a healthy body.
Take a good multi-vitamin and I t hink you're probably well on your way to a good start at a new life.

I would start out with a cleanse. The Master Cleanse is a little tough to maintain (7 days) but it's very effective. Do a Yahoo search on "The Master Cleanse" and several references will come up. There are several cleanses out there, so you have options. Most of them can be done without buying special packages or supplements.
Once you've gotten through the detox phase, start reintroducing whole, natural foods. You'll now be able to tell which allergies were real and which ones were toxicity issues.
See the references below for more information.
Good luck!

I have many health problems as well. The best thing I have found in the way of excersize was walking in the pool. Adding light weights or the noodles for resistance. This is working for me in a big way. I stick to it because it doesn't impact my joints near as much, resulting in a lot less pain. Most gyms have a class with this as the activity. Mostly it's older folks but I have Rheumatoid Arthritus and Asthma... so at 23 ..this is what I can do. As for the dieting.. I'm allergic to most things Healthy, asparagus, berries, nuts, spinache, and dairy just to name a few. I can't help you there.

Try feeding the tuna mixed with a high quality canned kitten food. He needs the extra vitamins and fat right now. Did the vet check his teeth for disease or abscesses? They vet may be making an educated (best guess) diagnosis of cancer from the blood work. I sure hope not, but any one of the suspects is not a good thing. If you can not or are unwilling to treat whatever is ailing your cat, just keep him as happy and comfortable as possible until the time comes when his life is no longer quality. If he is using the litter box, and not straining or crying, chances are it isn't a blockage. Try the feeding like I suggest and see if that helps. I wish the best for you and your cat. ADD: I know about money issues, but sometimes money doesn't matter, it's the illness. Sometimes the illness isn't worth treating as it can take it's toll on the health of your cat as well. I don't blame you for just making him as comfy as possible, and who knows maybe he'll snap out of it, so don't give up hope! I wish you the best.

I think you need to tread slowly since you are obviously not well.
The best diet to be on is a detox cleansing diet that helps you get rid of toxins and hence helps you with your weight problems and other symptoms like allergies, eczema and low energy.
You should ditch your dietician and find a naturopath practitioner who can help you with this form of diet, assuming if you are interested.
For some free information, here is a newsletter site that you can subscribe to and which I have found useful http://www.detox-cleansing-diet.com
As you have specific ailments, do ensure that you get the necessary clearance from your health care practitioner that it is okay for you to go on a detox cleansing diet.

Sorry you're dealing with such misery.
I suggest you start writing notes, because you definitely need to have a very close discussion with your doctor. Communication with a health professional is extremely important, and usually that means that you should write notes with all your questions and problems, otherwise you'll leave most of them out when you next see your doctor.
The pain thing can be addressed. So can the breathing thing. If you can work with the doc on those two issues, then you can focus on getting fit again gradually with less painful, but more successful routines.

Hello. I sympathize with you. But I think you better start swimming away from your asthma. Yes, SWIMMING!!!! In my experience, i used to suffer from weak lungs too. But since I started swimming, which my previous job requires(lifeguard), I noticed a gradual change in my breathing. I lost the occasional coughs and cold, and developed my muscles too. Swimming, they say is a total body work out. you should try it too.
