As a Buddhist, screaming is causing harm, and not respecting others for were they are at which is always in respects O.K. Also screaming creates negative karma for the most part, not being mindful of you thoughts and actions in harmonious ways. To help others is not to let them lose their mindfulness when react with screaming emotions of what they believe is right from a result of their mind and emotions that is also suffering. Acting with calm abiding is most valued.
The main practice for Buddhism is meditation, and I would like to hope that more Buddhists are doing that then anything else, which then Buddhism is becomes more of a science of mind then a religion, but it is still a religion as a path to follow. I hope that I'm in what we call post-mediation which is a good results from after practicing a form of mediation.
Also the point of challenging other religious beliefs, causes others to suffer, which then also causes bad karma for the most part. A buddist should explain what needs to be heard for those whom are ready to hear. The ones that are ready to hear are those whom have desire to renounced the world in some way. Those whom are ready to renounceate the world then must understand it's the attachment of worldly thing that cause suffering, that need to be renounced, and that the nature of the world still needs your respect, and involement.
The four noble truths as the Budbha first taught are:
1. That suffering does exscects.
2. That there is an orgin to suffering.
3. That there is a path to end the suffering.
4. One must go on the path to end the suffering.
Then if one want to go farther, then one goes on the path to help end the suffering of others before completing the goal of ending the experience of suffering and confusion themselves. This is called the bodhsativa path. This is consididered more of a greater noble action, then just working to end the suffering of yourself.
They actually complement each other greatly but one must learn to work with your own mind first before you can truely help others, which helping others is more difficult to do with a suffering confused mind that needs working with first.
This is why you do not hear buddhist sceaming about religion.

I think that religious fundamentalism can encourage people to think a certain way--it can create narrow-mindedness and prejudice. Fundamentalism involves the misappropriation of religious belief for the purpose of indoctrinating people into a certain belief system. This is done by leaders who are like programmers, brainwashing people. Most of the time, the conditions in these countries are so terrible and the people so helpless and desperate that they fall victims to this type of thinking.
People are surprised by the Taliban in Afghanistan, an extremely poor and isolated country with little development and democracy. There were many economic and social problems. The Soviets invaded Afghanistan and this made things much worse.
An excerpt from Encarta Encyclopedia:
G. Social Issues
"A variety of social ills are common in Afghanistan, such as poverty, interethnic strife, inequality of women, and widespread thievery, kidnapping, and banditry. Blood feuds handed down through generations are legendary, and revenge is regarded as a necessary redress of wrongs. The civil war strengthened these tendencies to the point where little travel was safe in the country without an adequate supply of money to buy safe passage. The civil war killed, wounded, and displaced hundreds of thousands of civilians. Water and telephone systems and sewage ditches were destroyed. Years of war separated and impoverished extended families that traditionally cared for widows and fatherless children. Some provinces began experiencing famine in the 1990s, and diseases of malnutrition began to be reported for the first time in decades.
Traditional Afghan custom, which was revived by the Taliban and other fundamentalist rebel groups, imposes limits on women’s activities outside the home. In 1996, after the Taliban came to power, the United Nations reported a series of 21 new ordinances governing the behavior of women in Afghanistan. Women were prohibited from working outside the home, attending school, wearing perfume, participating in sports, and walking outside the home without the escort of a male relative. Women were reportedly stoned to death for infractions, a practice that had been suppressed for decades."

Buddhists are tolerant of other religions. They practice being at peace with the world, and try to find the good in all people.

I think that most of the buddhists on here have figured out what they believe. My brother is a lose buddhist, he is a easy going guy that follows the main stuff, and decides what he thinks is "right". Because there aren't as many "rules", it makes it easier to figure out what is important.

Buddhist people believe they do not need to convert others to their beliefs. Others will find Buddhism when they are ready to become Buddhist. This passive approach is central to the philosophy

Buddhists are taught to respect everyones belief even if they don't agree with them. They are taught not to force the truth down anyones throat. That of someone asks you for advice then give it to them. Dont just go around telling people how to live their lives. They believe life is all about free will.

Buddhism has been around longer, and evolved more. All religions teach us to overcome Ego and false pride, which cause self-righteousness and hypocrisy.
Solomon said all is Vanity and vexation of spirit! Native Americans say man has too much self-importance! If somebody just makes brief eye contact, he thinks the person is looking at HIM! If two people are talking, he thinks they're talking about HIM!
If two people share a laugh, he thinks they're laughing at HIM!
Get the picture?
