i'm all out of options here. im supposed to make a dessert out of green plants for a project. i just wanna know if that kind seaweed used to make agar agar is green... well some seaweeds are red you know... HELP!!!

Sorry, the agar-agar (or kanten) I buy is a clear kind of seaweed, almost like a sponge.

Kiwi is a green plant, though, isn't it? You can make milk-kanten with kiwi fruits (apparently, the kiwi doesn't bother the gelling process like it does with gelatin). Here's a recipe

It's listed in the variations for apple kanten. Use milk instead of juice.

You can harvest agar agar from red algae or Japanese Isinglass.
Green plants? Why don't you use basil or mint? Basil you say? Yes, try adding some sugar to basil.....then tell me what it tastes like.

The sea weed that we use to make dessert is known as "china grass" too. Its kinda transparent , thin spigs of week.
Boil it in water , add sugar and milk, cardamoms.
Cool to room temp and then refrigerate.
I add some flavour if i so desire too. Maybe hersheys strawberry?
