It just seems like everyone is in their own little world with this stuff, especially here in Seattle.

My job asks me to carry a mobile phone with me-that is the only electronic 'toy' I use in public (and if they didn't pay for it, I wouldn't even have that) and if I get a call, I keep it short and simple. When I step out into the heart of the city and see all these idiots typing their emails, listening to their iPods, talking on their phones, etc... I usually laugh my *** off. People still view these things as status symbols- "Hey, everyone I'm important, I have a cell phone!"
Well guess what- it IS annoying to other people, and I have no problem telling them that. A little while back someone in NYC was hit by a car and killed crossing the street because they had their iPod blasting and were oblivious to their surroundings- they get no sympathy from me whatsoever.
People don't kinow how to talk face to face anymore- the only interaction they can handle is a computer screen.

That's my rant.....

YES, YES, YES !! It`s everywhere, even on this site, it seems at least 50% of the questions have to do with some type of electronic gadget. It seems one barely has a chance to learn how to use one gadget, then suddenly it`s obsolete and another takes its place. A person, literally has to learn a new language to understand what all these items mean and do. If one is over 30, forget it !! Ur left in the dust.

Robin Williams said it right in RV, about living in a community that all messaging is done electronically, such as we IM each other to say it is time for dinner. People are becoming ruder thinking that we want to hear their phone conversations. I am also so very glad that California has passed the law that it is illegal to talk on the cell phone while driving

Yes!

But you think it's bad in Seattle...Try living in the HEART of los angeles dealing with bands and clothing companies and being surrounded by all these little gadgets.

I mean, im one of em as ive got an ipod, a helio, and one of those new digital camera type things...but even *I* sometimes sicken myself with all my *junk*.

People just get so focused on these things that its becoming increasingly harder to hold a conversation with them. Or try getting stuck in traffic by someone who's too busy checking their myspace to look up and see the lights changed!

They entertain the user and don't disrupt anyone else. What would you rather have people doing?
