Definitely one day caste system in India goes down. Because in olden days the society was splitted by group of people in working category wise. They are done that kind of organising the people for a good cause. But the days passed the people are misusing and misunderstand the concept of the caste system. Especially after the British people coming they stimulate the caste problem for their own benefits. Still we can't get rid of the caste system.
In some aspect the caste system is good. That is if you are in a problem then your caste people may support you. But now days it is also not happened to all the people.
Now a days most of them educate well in India especially in Major cities. They are using caste category when they are studied in a school & college. Now a days most of the boys & girls not expecting Government jobs. They just prefer to go for private companies. Because so many opportunites are there in private companies. In private companies they don't consider you in caste basis. They only prefer you when only you are having stuff & knowledge & experience. So this is a good sign. In future it should familiarize to every one.
The Government should take necessary steps to eradicate caste system especially in Education. Because you are using caste system in education from the childhood. That seed definitely in your heart. That caste seed also growing while you are growing.
For getting vote from the people the politician won't stop this caste system. Dr.Ambedkar putting this kind of caste system benefits only for 10 years after freedom. They still extended the benefits for the caste system. Because if they cancel all the benefits then they won't get vote from the people. This is real truth. So, officially it doesn't possible to eradicate the caste system. But it is possible only by the people who are having vision for the future. Love marriages and inter caste arranged marriages are one of the way of eradicating the caste system.
Then the Government should stop the meetings and rallies organised by the individual caste. Definitely that leads to problem.
Thank you for asking this question. Because I have the vision for the future India. When we implementing that vision I feel caste system is one of the barriers.
Thank you
Karthi

Not sure if it's totally possible. However, I think if the younger generation keeps moving forward and breaking through the demands of the cast system then it will slowly evolve.
It is a deep rooted subject.
I believe cast systems are all over the world, in different ways and on different levels.

I don't feel we can totally eradicate caste system in INDIA.Its not necessary to do that. We all belong to different caste and culture yet we stand united on various issues. As our country is a secular country we should not aim for eradicating caste system. Our aim should be to achieve UNITY IN DIVERSITY. Caste differences and caste related problems arise only in rural India and its prevalent among illiterates .

Allow everybody to choose their own caste and write against their name if they so desire. There should be no consideration whatsoever in the name of caste, legally, socially or in any manner which may give advantage or disadvantage to any particular caste. If people can follow a religion of their liking and belief and can change it according to their faith, there is no harm to change caste according to their liking. After three generations nobody will know what cast their forefathers belonged to.

Caste is emedded in our system from the olden days. Castes emerged on the basis of people's professions. They have remained as they were. Modern times, people are giving importance to their castes like welfare of one's caste by forming associations, caste based marriages and trying to derive more concession from the government. Constitution of India has divided castes under B.Cs, S.Cs and S.Ts. and giving reservations. To eradicate caste system from the Indian horizons, economic criteria should be the basis of economic backwardness. Reservations must be removed on the basis of Castes. Laws must be enacted by the Parliament on the basis of economic backwardness. Marriages of inter castes should be encouraged. Census of population must be conducted on economic criteria. From education to employment, economic criteria should be taken into account without mentioning caste anywhere. All people are treated equally by the goverment irrespective caste, creed and religion. Regional Boards should be constituted all over the country to develop all regions and implemented various schemes without any discrimination.

Simple. The moment you see an other human being respect. When you see other human being believe that the other human being is same as you are, then complex interpretations of virtual caste does not exist. If you give life to caste system it exists if you don't it won't.

it needs unity of the intellectuals from all the castes to discuss the issue on a grest scale. caste system is one of the greatest evil which is eating up india from within.ther should be a respect of liberalism.there should not be caste barriers in marriage, jobns or any other field. we have to broaden our mind to think beyond these obligations to develop a better society

The people have to want it to change, petition the government. Be prepared for obstinate objection from the wealthier classes and a lot of patience.
