you shouldn't be lifting weights til lthe age of 17 because your body is growing at a rapid speed and if your trying yo shape your muscles and make them bigger your confusing your body. Then when your older you will have lots of problems in your muscles. Just wait a year or so.

First things first -- you should wait about another 18 months before you really start trying to gain muscle. Your bones aren't done growing yet and you'll be in severe pain if you've added a substantial amount of muscle before your final growth phase. Your bones will slowly and painfully stretch the muscle you've added and that will be far from a pleasant experience.

To build healthy and practical muscle, you should be able to bench press 60% of your body weight (equivalent to a pushup for a man) 50 times in 2 minutes. That may not sound like much, but the first time you try it, it will probably kick your @$$.

"Maxing out" has no practical health benefit. The only thing it provides is bragging rights.

Yea don't listen to these people who say you shouldn't lift til you're older. We don't actually stop developing until well into our 20s, and many professional bodybuilders are that age.

Anyway, 180 pounds is good, it's over your bodyweight. It's really subjective as everyone has different natural abilities, and it depends on what your goals are, how much you work out, and what you do.

Anything over your body weight at more than 2 or 3 reps is pretty good, keep it up!

(Don't listen to that girl down there, you are fine after puberty.)
