JHVH-1, the Alien God you may be praying to, is a friend of "Bob," but he doesn't really care if you pray. He obviously doesn't listen, or we'd all be filthy rich. It's better to worship him by sending all your money to the Church of the SubGenius and letting them take their cut.

The idea of a G-d (or multiple gods)has been passed down for thousands of years, and it has been pushed onto us.
We know alot more now than the human race ever has, and its still hard for people to let go of what has been preached to us.
