I see that they have them at Wally world and wanted to know if anyone has tried them on anything besides cabinet doors and drawers in kitchens. I would like to use them on my bathroom medicine cabinet to lock medicines and other things my 2 year old can reach now. Any advice is appreciated.

I tried the ones from Wallyworld and they were a waste of money. They are flimsy and a two year old can yank them open. I tried more expensive ones and they were crap too.
The only thing I have found that works and my six year old can't even open are in the hardware section. They are like the old hook locks that poeople have on wood screen doors. They have a hook and an eye but the hook part has a metal catch on it that you have to slide back before it will slip out of the eye. They are cheap, like four for $1.50. You can even get them in different finishes to match your fixtures. Easy screw in installation and they work on everything. We even have ones that hold the kids' entertainment center to the wall so they can't pull it over. You can even put them on the inside of drawers so they only open about an inch. Hope this helps!!

Medicine Cabinet Locks

If your medicine cabinet is deep enough, the drawer latches should work. But some kinds of drawer latches are made to fold down when you don't want to use them, and those can open if you pull hard enough, so be sure to look them over carefully. Whatever kind you choose, just be sure to test it out after you put it in. If your medine cabinet is not deep enough to accomodate a drawer latch, try a fridge latch.

Depends on the cabinet and the child. Our son has been able to manipulate the locks (many different types) since he was about 18 months. Bottom line: Child Safety locks are a good preventative measure, BUT DO NOT RELY ON THEM!

We have the simple cabinet child locks in our kitchen (which our son has always been able to open). They don't really keep him out, but they give us a couple extra seconds to hear him get in and grab him!

For our bathroom closet (which has our cleaners on one shelf and meds on another) we have a hook and eye (with a spring) lock up near the top of the door. We also have our meds in tool box type boxes with small locks on them (we store the key on the top of the door frame). Extreem? Possibly, but with our son - who can somehow manage to undue nearly anything - it gives us peace of mind!

I had them on everything in my house when my kids were young and the only thing it seemed to accomplish was keeping the adults out. I had to have one of the kids get the doors open until I took them off anyway. I suggest a hook and eye on the top lip of the cabnet, your 2 year old wont get to it and you will be bale to get in your cabnet.

unfortunately when couples separate they use the children to hurt the other one. I know because my mother convinced me that my father was the totally evil one and it was not until I had my own children that I realized that the differences a husband and wife have does not affect the love they have for the children. I then asked my father for forgiveness as I had said some awful things to him over the years. My mother was certainly never interested in our safety and she expected my father to pay maintenance and to pay for our education. With my husband I disagreed with his idea not to allow the children to go shopping on their own. I wanted them to have the freedom and to learn from their own mistakes. I understand that he was worried about their safety but I accepted the risks and gave them permission even at an early age to occasionally go out on their own.

I never used chid locks. Just kept medicines out of her reach and supervised her activites at home.
