I am a student living in dorms. Since I don't have any option of eating healthy food, I have to survive on the cafetria food only. As a result, I have gained tremendous amount of wieght. Recently I found out that there is Curves near my shcool. I wish to join it. But I am not sure how effective will that be?

How effective are you? Because that is the bottom line. Curves has a great program, but it only works if you go.

And cafeteria food is not all that bad if you make some wise choices. There are always salads, soups, sandwiches made with whole wheat bread, etc. You can make your food choices as healthy as YOU want, because you actually do have some control.

Curves is actually really great. It is a quick, 30 minute workout without the egotistical dudes around that you see at the gym. I have been a member for about 5 months but you really need to workout at least 3 times a week and watch your food intake. Why not the gym at school? That is probably free for you

I think curves is great for anyone just starting out, especially if they've never really worked out before, and who's goal is weight loss and general maintenance. Beyond that, it's pretty limited. For instance, from what I understand you can't customize a program. It's sort of a "one size fits all" program. But, that's all some people want.

I've known two women who joined and quit later because it was too limiting for them. But they really did see good results starting out; they simply outgrew it after a time.

Good luck!

try it. i go to Curves. i like it a lot because it's all WOMEN. you don't have to worry about working out with men. plus, the workout goes by so fast it only takes 30 minutes. the machines are also great, and i've heard that many people lose weight while working out at Curves. i'm a student too, and they have Student Discounts. i say: join.

For someone like me who just wanted a workout to tone muscles it was awful and too expensive, but I heard they are great for weight loss and offer diet and other classes
