depends on your motherboard compatibility.
most video cards out there are generally in two types depending on the kind of slot they run on: AGP 8X and PCI-E 16 X.
the second one is faster.
and if you wanna run Doom3 on high quality, u gotta get a real good video card.
i have ATI Radion X1600 Pro PCI-E 512DDR3 400Mhz core clock but it lags a lot at high quality in Doom3. (frame per second averaging about 10)
you will rpobably need a current 400 dollar video card for best Doom3 experience, and make sure you motherboard supports the slot your video card run on, and your RAM has to be at least twice as large than video memory to make video card fun sufficiently. also, your CPU is a key element in how good the game runs.

For 10 points, you send to me the MODEL and number of your computer and I will tell you exactly what you need. Or if it is even possible. Cuz if your computer is too old, there is no way you could play the game.
Just like if you got a new computer, you could not play any games from say 10 years ago.
