Among ole "Blood n Guts" Patton's victories (in WW2 of course)...
The Tunisia Campaign (may 13, 1943)-over 275,000 Axis troops surrender, finalized by Operation Retribution.
1943 invasion of Sicily (Operation Husky)- Patton captures Palermo, 29,000 Axis troop casualties, 140,000 captured. (This was also the scene of "the incident" in which Patton slapped 2 shell shocked troops).
Lorraine-August 31, 1944....Patton runs out of gas, literally (The time he needs to refuel his tanks give the Germans time to fortify Metz, France.) Still beats the Germans and takes Metz by Nov. 23.
Ardennes offensive, Late 1944- Germany makes a last ditch offensive (the Battle of the Bulge). On December 16, they mass 29 divisions (250,000 troops) at weak points in the allied lines.
By February, the Germans are in full retreat.

Although the Battle of the Bulge is well remembered, for me the outstanding battle was the Breakout of the Beachhead at Normandy in July 1944 and the subsequent race across France, driving the Germans back across the Reine. If his supply lines would not have been precariously stretched, Patton might have beaten the Russians to Berlin.

Operation torch.
every one saying Battle of the bulge needs to look back farther in his history.
Patton's star started to shine when he took control of 2nd army in Africa and defeated Rommel's forces.
From that point he and Montgomery began a battle of egos.
Hell even this race to Palermo and Syracuse was equally as famous as his maneuver at the battle of the Bulge
actually I think his best battle in Patton's career was during the Mexican expedition under General Pershing.
Patton single handedly took out 3 armed horse men with only his pistol.

He was famous before the Battle of the Bulge but that was probably his most famous battle.
Well, that and his personal battle after slapping that soldier.

dear god are you kidding me. patton is the greatest general since stonewall jackson the inventor of operational warfare. dude, just about everything patton did was remarkable, expect being a glory hound and not always supporting the entire plan when he tended his own agenda in siciliy. let's see polermo was neat but the bulge is definitely his greatest achievement pulling his army away from an engaged enemy, marched them 100 miles to free the 101st airborne from being destroyed by the germans at arbonne. i need to read more about patton but man if you like military history patton is a great one to read about. they don't make them like patton anymore, which is too bad.

Battle of the Bulge. Certainly, the relief of the surrounded and outnumbered troops of the 101st Airborne at Bastogne was a highlight.
