The soldiers who were killed were kidnapped by mean wearing American uniforms in Iraq, however they were not Americans. The following is the first paragraph from the news on Yahoo.

BAGHDAD, Iraq - In perhaps the boldest and most sophisticated attack in four years of warfare, gunmen speaking English, wearing U.S. military uniforms and carrying American weapons abducted four U.S. soldiers last week at the provincial headquarters in the Shiite holy city of Karbala and then shot them to death.

Can we ever trust anyone...anywhere? What do you think should be done about this incident? What would you if you were the general in charge in Iraq? Only serious answers please.

They weren't Iraqi soldiers, they were insurgents and part of the Mahdi Militia.

the National Police wear a blue digital uniform but it's obviously not like ours.

Here is what I would do. First, I would allow US soldiers to enter and clear mosques. That's where a VAST majority of weapons and bad guys are hanging out because they know they're safe. Second, I would resume combat operations. We have been working under the rules of engagement for Stability and Support Operations. We need to resume combat operations to allow us an open rules of engagement.

One of the soldiers killed in Karbala was my friends room mate.

They were insurgents. The big question is how could they have access to American uniforms and what Iraqi speaks English without an accent??? My bet is they were from a nearby country and have been planning this for a long time. They don''t care how long it takes, they will in one way or another attain their objective and that is to kill as many Americans as possible. And don't talk about that we have to kill them before they kill us - they are sneaky and sly. They would kill their own mother for a dinar - excuse me a dollar.
