ohh god no dont text him or u will come across as a stalker, unless you call him and say u found the number in the bathroom stall with hearts next to it, so u decided to call it. then act surprised when you "find out" its him. hah always works for me!
or you can just joke with him and say your stalking him.
example:
you-"hey wats up?"
him-"who's this?"
you-"its [place name here]"
him-"how did you get my number?"
you-"im stalking you-muahaha"
him-"lol...okay"
you-" just joking my friend gave it to me, im bored so whats up!"
him-"lol, nothing much, you?"
you-"same boring life."
what you want to do is make him laugh. show him your down to earth. show him you can take a joke. laugh at his lame jokes.

Text him saying, "Sorry my friend stole your phone." He will definitely be intrigued. He'll either call you right back or text you asking who you are. Just be cool and say your friend was messing around and you took the phone away from her, asking who it belonged to.

No way! It's so stalker and you're making it WAAAAY too easy for him. Boys love to chase, and they want what they can't have. In my experience, the less interested you are, the more interested they are. I'm not saying to be a cold b*tch to him, but just act normally and get to know each other.
I am never impressed when people contact me when I haven't given them my number.

text him and say hi, that is all, you have a crush obviously and you know him and he knows of you, just text him a hello and see where it goes from there, if he texts you back in which I am sure he would then you have something going.

just act natural. and say you got it from a friend, that your with your friend, and you were bored so decided to text him. ask him "what you up to?" first, then "how are you?" later on. works. just do what i said and you'll be fine.
