Try checking the county courthouse website in which the "person" was convicted. Lots of counties are releasing that kind of information on their website.

Say you are looking for Wood County, Texas courthouse website. Well they have judicial records searches for their county on their website.

Just give it a try.

HONESTLY YES there is a site YOU can check for FREE ! That access is maintained by local Law Enforcement. The site is called "NCIC".
