can anyone provide any project details regarding short range RF communication?

Im doing project in RF based data transmission within short range..for that i thought of using Maxim 1472 & 1473 ic's for transmission & reception..is there any problem in using those ic's? also suggest me if any other good solution for this project..also if it is ok then where & how can i get those chips? kindly provide me enough details as soon as u can...

I have no experience with these devices. However, you can buy small quantities worldwide directly from Maxim, or go through distribution.
