My foot has been hurting for a while, but it's kind of been going on and off (the pain). About one tenth of the time, my foot is hurting, and the rest, I can't feel a thing. When it does hurt, however, my foot has excrutiating pain. Since I'm only 11, my doctors don't believe me when I tell them my problem. If you know what the problem is, please tell me. If you know how to get my doctors to believe me, please tell me that, too. Also, the pain has only hurt on my right foot for a minute; it's almost always on my left foot.
P.S. It has also been hurting for about 2 years now. Thank you!!
P.P.S. The pain feels like I have needles plunging into my foot.

I had that sort of pain when I was around your age, sweetie. I'm afraid it's from not wanting to go to school or some other problem you have. My daughter also suffered from it. A psychosomatic illness.

Have you had any tests run? If a doctor doesn't know the
problem up front, he/she will generally run a battery of tests
to find the answer. If all these tests reveal nothing, then
it's not that they don't believe you..it just can't be found.
By the way, what do your parents' think?
The tingling and the needles you talk about sounds like a circulation problem....as if you've been sitting on your foot
for an hour or two then try to walk before the blood gets flowing
again.
My grandson litterally experienced growing pains. His bones
were growing faster than his muscles and his legs hurt off and
on for a year or so until everything caught up with each other.
Maybe it has something to do with that.

well your not lying so insist that your parents know that your not lying doctors at least some of them are not too bright . one doctor writes down your making up the story about the foot and then the next one is prone to just accept that regardless of what you say .
ask your parents to start fresh all new doctors don't mention ever seeing another doctor and see what the new one says
also make sure you see a foot doctor and a nerve specialist .
sadly i have been though some similar problems i went about 20 years with indigestion so bad i vomited all most every day
doctor told me it was all in my head i was too young for this illness .
now at 43 only a couple of years ago i finally got pills to treat this problem and its changed my life. i know for sure i had this for the last 20 years and for 20 years was told i was lying or nuts
good luck .

i think you should talk to your parents. They should be aware of this if you have had pain for 2 years. If you are usually honest with them, then they should believe you. It is their job to stick up for you and insist that the doctor run any needed tests or x-rays to determine the cause of the pain. it could be something as simple as you needing different or better shoes.
p.s. if you tell them your foot hurts and then 10 minutes later you are running down the road with your friends....then they probably wont believe you.

Very good that you mentioned the last part! have you ever been checked for Diabeties? What it sounds like a very mild case of Neuropathy. Usually effects both feet. They tested me every which way and said they didn't know what it was......all tests came out normal...lol so what do you do? put up with it. One thing that may help and it helps me where good and pretty thick socks an a good pair of shoe that provide good cusion and fit well. Last but not least ask them to check your low back for any buldging of the discs etc. its a long shot but it maybe your back.

Sounds like a neuroma. You didn't specifiy where in the foot. Anyways, have you seen the right doctor for what sounds like nerve pain-a neurologist?

Were you ever bitten by a wood tic (thinking lymes disease) or have they ever done blood work to see if you have juvienile arthritis??
also- did they ever x-ray the area to see if they is a fracutre/crack or an old break in it/
if your going to the same docs- it's time to get your folks to bring you elsewhere. you are young and only have 1 set of feet if there is a problem going un diagnosed you'll be wrecked for life. you done ever mess around with the feet.

tell your mother that you are telling the truth, and they need to believe you that you are telling the truth or they arent doing their job really well. and tell them to put a lie detector on you, then they will believe you.
hope you feel better...does it feel like your foot is asleep, that might be it, when you get oo comfortable?
good luck:)))
