Prayer is the practice of the presence of God. It is the place where pride is abandoned, hope is lifted, and supplication is made. Prayer is the place of admitting our need, of adopting humility, and claiming dependence upon God. Prayer is the needful practice of the Christian. Prayer is the exercise of faith and hope. Prayer is the privilege of touching the heart of the Father through the Son of God, Jesus our Lord.

In fact befor creation, the Almighty God asked the human souls if they loved Him the most; all the human souls relied off course. The quest for praying is the intrinsic urge which man has been trying to satisfy, since time immemorable.Prayers to God meaning to seek His benedictions and favours and express their gratitudes for His favours are continuously being made; but due to His immense love and mercy, he has been guiding the best ways and most acceptable manners to pray. The quality of that mannerism can be judged only from the reciprocation by God.Since God is the absolut and ultimate truth, then the guidance revealed must be an ultimate truth without any confusion and credulance. It is not that stones should start swallowing milk but this reciprocation is revelation through angles in its best of forms.

I guess I pray in many different ways. Sometimes I pray in my mind, sometimes I pray out loud and sometimes I talk to God as if He is sitting beside me in the car. When I am trying to really Honor Him I get on the floor and bow down my face before Him. Other times I just tell God how I love Him and I thank Him because He is so good to me. Pray without ceasing, I have woke up praying.

On this one the last three answers have the right of it. I can only say it works for me and I'm not good at it because I was never a good listener Chatter box yes not good at waiting and being patient did not know much about being loved or how to love I was all ways to quick off the mark critical in short all the things a man should not think say be and do. I'm still learning at 67 years of age and will do for what ever time I have left. As for being a doer of the word no good at that yet but I will go on trying. yours in J. C. peter william lack.

It is personnel time with my Father, and my friend. It is taking time out to worship Him. To show my love for Him. It is a quiet time. I ask Him to protect people to Open peoples eyes to the truth, to share my true feelings. To pray for others to be saved, and healed, to plead my case. He is amazing, and He does answer prayers. He may not answer them the way I want, but He does answer them. He knows what is best for me, and for all others. If He gave us everything we asked for we would never need Him. Or it could harm us.

Prayer is acknowledging that whatever you desire, or wish to happen, already exists (out there in the wider Universe) and is being brought to you. The way to pray is to ask for something, but not to beg or supplicate, but to actively give thanks. Instead of saying " please give me... " you say " thank you God/Allah/Hindu deity etc, for giving me... "
Also, give thanks for the things you already have in your world (health, family, home, wealth, friends, love, job etc). Gratitude is an energy vibration which always brings you many more things to be grateful for.

We have been given the privilege of kneeling before God and making a petition before Him. He's ready to listen. We can rejoice, weep, complain, ask, or just talk, and be heard. That is prayer. When no one else listens, God will.

Some say that any thought is a prayer. I would agree with this with a proviso, so that any thought that connects with God is a prayer.
