The Jesus story is comparable to the Tragic Greek Dramas developed in the 5th Century BC which were derived from myths and legends. The central character, in this case Jesus, is a hero who lives for honor and fame by serving his city. The hero's destiny and ambition were to display courage by courting danger and to live a life of glory which would climax in a great and noble death. By sending suffering and evil the Gods could bring about the hero's downfall. Tragedy was intended to evoke pity and fear and produce an experience which cleansed these emotions. Suffering brought knowledge of worldly matters and to the individual, wisdom and insight into the nature of his being.

He's been orbiting the planet for the past 2000 years onboard his battlecruiser, waiting for the precise moment to strike.
