Probably because christians have the whole "save yourself til marrige " thing and sometimes they can end up marrying the 1st person that asks just to have sex, before they get to look around and get to know the different types of people theres out there Physically emotionally and sexually , So they end up marrying somone they might not really have a connection with and therefore sooner or later theres a divorece.

I took a lot of psychology courses and never heard of this. People that have HUGE divorce rates are those in the age groups 17-25 years of age( I think it was like 80% divorce rate within the five year mark), those who have been divorced more than twice and those who parents divorced (not that much higher than the rest of the population though- just higher risk) and finally those who have lived together before marriage (again risk- they might have different expectations from marriage, that certain elements will in the relationship will get better) If the divorce are indeeds higher in the "Bible belt" , maybe because the population gets married more than the rest and the fact that they get married younger. And that could be said about any religious/non religiuos groups. If you don't see that in other "religious countries" , the laws for divorce are much difficult to obtain and some countries don't allow women to ask for one (also women don't have the finacial freedom to do so, family will disown them etc...) I live in a very liberal province in Canada, hardly the Bible Belt of the country, and the stats show that we have the highest rate of divorce. Mainly because divorce is easier to get and that most people believe that divorce is ok if a couple is unhappy. Research shows that generation X and Y and have higher standards of marriage (unrealistic ones) and give easier than previous generations. There is so many factors in the increase in divorce (although the rates have stabilized), can't just can't pin on one factor :)

Because Christians are compelled to get married, earlier in a relationship, more often than atheists. If you're living together and it doesn't work, you just break up. If it doesn't work when you'e married, it means going through a divorce.
I'll bet atheists have a higher rate of living together than Christians.

Could be that they joined the church in hopes that it could help to save the marriage in the first place. But, before I took this statistic to heart, I would ask who did this so called survey in the first place. Maybe an atheist organization. I have heard so many lies and distortions coming from atheists that I would not believe a thing said by one of them. With out Deity, how can there be morals? Without morals, how can you trust someone? I don't.

They are not putting God first in their lives. They are just playing church, and not living the way God intended them. Or they married someone who is not a Christian, and they get saved later, and then they hold that against them. Satan is out here to destroy all marriages. God intended people to marry and stay married. When we take God out of the picture, and put in self that is a time for divorce. People need to get back to the Bible, and praying together, and leave the world out of their marriage.

i dont believe this report. but at the same time I do know that a christian marriage has to be covenanted between 2 christians, not a christian and a satanist.

What "one" sin (mistake) will wreck your marriage. And, keep you out of Heaven, and Make people hate you?
When you know that answer, you will understand that when a Christian decides to live a righteous life, he will think he has the right to commit that "one" sin that will eventually wreck his marriage.
Can you think of that "one" sin that will lead to all three of the above listed disasters?

Because Christians are delusional by definition. This causes irrationality, lies, and nonstop fights. God is a Santa Clause for adults, and causes them to act like children.
