How did the Universe come about? I'll do some research. Maybe the big bang. It couldn't be God because where did he come from?

Except for the derogatory statements included about Christians laziness, you've got it about right.

Nah...

Christian: How did the universe come about? Well the universe cannot be infinite, or else we would never reach go from infinite years ago up until this day; we'd always be stuck in infinite ages ago. Thus time must have a beginning. Secondly, scientists know that matter and time had a beginning at the Big Bang, so that means a timeless, non-physical entity must have initiated it.

Atheist: Where did the universe come from? Another universe created it. Nature created itself.

Christian: There is good an evil in this world, and in the afterlife either we are consumed by self-righteousness or by true righteousness. Thus I will set my eyes on the righteous things.

Atheist: There is no punishment or no afterlife, so I'll try to be pretty good just to leave a good mark, but it really doesn't matter if I do naughty things from time to time, so long as no one notices.

Matthew 5:11-12
11"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Psalms92: 5-7
5 How great are your works, O LORD, how profound your thoughts! 6 The senseless man does not know, fools do not understand, 7 that though the wicked spring up like grass and all evildoers flourish, they will be forever destroyed.

Romans 1 :20
20For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

BTW: I am a Christian that believes in evolution & science. If fact I was a biology major. Why is it that atheists think that Christians do not cherish their physical life because we believe in an after life? To me it sounds as though the atheists are limiting their options. I do understand the world, but I realize I have no true control so I submit to God, versus rack my brain about things out of my control! You choose to think you know more than the creator, you think that because your finite mind can’t comprehend eternity, that is must not exist. That is the same thinking that argued that the world was flat, despite all the evidence that was right there staring them in the face “without” circumnavigating the GLOBE! If you choose not to believe in God fine, that is your choice but you have no right to think you are better than me based on your biased, narrow-minded views. God has the right reserved to Judge me, so let it be.

Oh lovely stuff like this again.......man oh man. Other than my spine aching (I just cracked it) this is a piece of work too. For Christians sure some think that way.... somewhere but not all. I love thinking and I'm Christian. I can't tell you what a Christian in New Zealand is thinking but for me no I am not like that. Also Christian verse two is a bunch of BS in my view. Humanity will implode soon enough and thats a very pessimistic view coming from me right now I think the lack of sleep and the cycle is causing that...but anyway Christian verse three holds some truth though I hate the lazy sound you put out. I mean really do humans control EVERYTHING in our lives? I don't think so.....also who says that Christians don't think like your "atheist" is thinking? I really despise people who think just because you have a religious belief you don't think for yourself or your completely brainwashed and don't question things. Its a bunch of bull. No one will ever understand the true meaning of life. It will be different for everyone. I don't even see why I answered this....I need a nap....

Atheiest's dont know where the Big Bang came from either. there is a theory of spontaneous generation but that is considered by most scientists to be, and I quote, "just as bad as theism."

If atheists are truly as cool and rational as you believe, I would have naturally assumed that you would have performed a little research on your own and check upon those Christian "stereotypes" before so casually tossing them into the fray.

Some of the world's greatest thinkers, scientists, philosophers, authors, leaders, you name it, are Christian (for a quick list of scientists on wikipedia consult cite below). Granted there have been bad ones, too - but that's human nature for you. I mean, not every atheist is evil, nor angelic either. But I think it rather condemning and presumptuous to consider Christians to be as naive and mentally slothful as you make them out to be.

If you were to delve into the Christian Tradition to see what is actually being taught and believed, I think you would be pleasantly surprised to find a very rigorous and rational approach to their outlook on life. Additionally, atheism does not necessarily precipitate from having studied science, nor can it come close to disproving theism. I would argue that the general tendency is quite the contrary - honest scientific inquisition leads more naturally to belief in God.

Did you post a question just to insult those of us who believe in God? Maybe your question should say that youre close minded and cant accept that a higher power may exist? Im not lazy, and I have thought about how the world exists and what happens when we die many times...which is exactly why I believe in God.

Those of The True Christian Faith - God did it.... lets use God's science to try and figgure out how he did it...and just maybe in trying we will figgure out a way to make thing a bit better here on earth while we wait for our turn to go to Heaven.

Athiests - scr*w that...I want all I can get for myself
