When I get angry or very stressed out/upset, I have pain all in my left arm and upper neck for hours and I can't calm down. Why is this happening and what could it be?

I'm 27, I dont smoke, I drink socially and I don't take any medication. But sometimes on my tests it says I have high blood pressure.

Stress has a lot of side effects... It's probably nothing malignant, but it's always a good idea to deal with/eliminate as much stress as you can. Good luck :)

That is signs of a heart attack. Also there has been a study shown that when someone is in an uncomfortable situation their neck and shoulders stiffen and their blood circulation to that area also slows down. Maybe just over stressed but it could be heart problems. Do you have an irregular heart beat or any history in your family of heart disease or any other heart condition?

I don't know for sure and I don't mean to alarm you, but pain in the left arm is a symptom of heart disease. Do you have high blood pressure? You definitely need to tell your doctor about this.

A possible cause would be tension in your neck compressing some nerves. Worst case scenario would be something heart related. Most likely you may ave anxiety and anger management issues and need to learn how to relax. Go see a doctor and stop trying to self diagnosis, it will only make you more upset and angry.

With out seeing you and examining you, I can not tell you for sure. It may be angina pectoris. This is a condition where the heart is not getting enough oxygen. Since you say you have high blood pressure this is a very real possibility. Please get it checked out.

Stress can do that to you all by itself, however, I was reading just last night, that that is a very good early symptom of heart problems. You may want to have that checked out, if it continues.

I have read in magazines and been told by dr.'s that pain in your LEFT arm can be a signal for heart attacks.

You might want to get that checked out.

What has your doctor had to say about it. Nothing, absolutely nothing, can replace the advice of a qualified medical practitioner when it comes to issues of your health.
