Have u ever regretted hurting someone so badly?

Have u ever hurt someone so badly and really regret it and think back and can't believe you could do something so horrible? Did you try to resolve it or let it go? How do you feel til this day?? I know we arent suppose to live in regret...everything a happens for a reason..but c'mon now? Even I have felt this way.

Yes I have and had felt bad and apologized. It took time and maturity but I forgave myself and they did also.

I hurt someone so badly that I hurt myself. Not physically, but emotionally.
I tried everything within my power to mend the hurt that I had caused, but, its hard to forget something that stares you in the face every day.
I regret the effects that one foolish mistake cost me, but I can't change the past, if I could, wow, I can only imagine the things that I could do.
I can only live every day, knowing that I have learned from my mistakes that cost me the greatest thing in my life, and that I will never make a mistake like that again.

I try not to live with regrets because life is short and what is done has already been done. I refuse to dwell in the past because my days seem sadder. But of course, I have done lots of things that I have regretted, but would have regretted more if I never did them because I think of these "regrets" as individual learning experiences.

it's not necessarily regret that i'd feel - it's guilt. If there was a guy that liked me but i didn't like him back, i'll be honest about and tell him before things get more complicated. I don't regret the fact i don't like him or that i told him the truth( because it needed to happen), i just felt horrible and that's perfectly normal - you just feel like crap about the situation because you didn't want to hurt the person and guilty because you didn't want to be the "bad cop" and deliver the bad news.

Keeping religion far away from this.......but repenting to the person if possible or truly opening your soul (oops, no religion) and repenting is very freeing and healing.

We all make horrible mistakes. We admit them, analyze how we could be so cruel, what we can do to make ammends, how we can keep from doing it again. Once you've worked through this and are committed to positive change, you move on.

my best friend for 8 years (a guy friend) was in love with me. I didnt want anything more than a friendship bc we had tried the dating thing off and on for a few years. One drunken night at a party we slept together and that was pretty much the ending of our friendship. He wanted more. But I had another guy who cared for me the same way I cared for him. Breaking it to him was the hardest thing I ever had to do. He took it okay, but i felt terrible for what had happened and how i broke his heart.
